Lost alum Josh Holloway is set as the lead in Intelligence, CBS‘ drama pilot from writer Michael Seitzman, ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios. Based on unpublished book Dissident by John Dixon, Intelligence is centered at U.S. Cyber Command and focuses on a unit that has been created around one agent with a very special gift — a microchip has been implanted in his brain that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Holloway will play Gabriel Black, a former Navy SEAL and dedicated intelligence officer. The premise of Intelligence, which has a procedural element, is reminiscent of CBS’ Person Of Interest, which coincidentally stars another Lost alum, Michael Emerson. David Semel is directing the pilot and executive producing with Seitzman and Tripp Vinson.

I already saw this show, when it was called “Chuck.”
Funny. I didn’t see anything about Sawyer’s character flashing with information or special skills.
If you’re looking for uninspired programming, look no further than CBS. Seriously, this pilot sounds like unintelligent crap. Which means its definitely going to series.
Sounds dodgy – lots of shows with similar concepts in previous years. Hope for the best though.
So Gary from ALPHAS got his own spinoff?
Reminiscent of Person of Interest? Seriously? Talk about a desperate reach for a connection to Michael Emerson on another CBS project. Someone has already mentioned Chuck, but try UPN’s short-lived Jake 2.0, about a government agent able to control technology with his brain because he has nanobots inside him.
Who cares if this is Chuck or anything else, if that means Josh is back in my screen i’ll take it!
The show is Jake 2.0 + Chuck + Person of Interest rolled into one, but I miss Josh Holloway, and I hope this show makes it to CBS so I can see his sexy face again.
I never watched Chuck and have yet to watch Persons of Interest, but I’ll gladly watch any new drama with Josh Holloway in it. I kinda wish he were guesting on Justified or The Walking Dad.
I agree, can’t wait to see Josh/Sawyer.
I thought he was great in MI, sad he got killed off. Hope this is good, he’s awesomely hot.
RIGHT ON MORETEARS! I *LOVED* ‘Jake 2.0′ with a PASSION! One of the most underappreciated high-concept spy shows made. Actually, 2002 was FULL of high-concept genre dramas that eventually met the chopping block (‘Firefly’, ‘Birds Of Prey’, ‘Twilight Zone’ remake, etc)
As far as THIS CBS series goes, i’d go as far to say a modern-day 6-million-dollar Man, except with that bland procedural thing CBS always does to skew to that older demo they cater to (save for ‘BBT’).
Depending on it’s schedule placement, I’ll check it out! So long as it doesn’t conflict with ‘Arrow’, on CW, ‘SHIELD’ on ABC, or any other high concept drama on the fall season…
Why isn’t Josh Holloway a movie star? He was the best bit in MI4.
I know, right? He was killed and we had to endure Jeremy Renner.
“a microchip has been implanted in his brain that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum.”
Ohhhhh how techie.
“I think this guy should be in movies.” No, seriously folks. I thought Holloway was one of the breakout stars of ‘LOST’ and I don’t really understand why he has found more big screen roles. Was nice to see him pop up in MI4, but he could have had a bigger part as well.
The old “microchip in the head”. Seriously, cutting edge.
He was offered a much better pilot. Seitzman has not been able to get a show going beyond pilot. Glad this guy has finally gone back to television. Lost has been lover for years now.
Any more info about that better pilo Hollowa was offered?
I think this could work. He can balance between movies and television shows. He also has a movie coming out this year called “Battle of the Year.”
Josh is one of the most versitle actors I’ve seen on TV. I do wish him well with this show if gets picked up.
I wish josh would have landed on a different series as this pilot sounded the worst to me… It sound like a rip off o chuck… And by the way chuck was my favorite show..
But why? Because someone has something implanted in their head even though it does something entirely different?
Cast him as the new Indiana Jones and bring in a new director and writer. Indiana Jones can be a 007-like franchise if you let it. And folks, this isn’t just me spitballing… it’s been talked about behind doors.
Oh Josh, you deserve better than this. And, better reps.
Even better: a young Han Solo, or his son.
See you in the next life, Josh!
Seitzman must have the goods on someone…
I don’t care how retread redone, rebooted, retooled…it’s JOSH frakkin’ HOLLOWAY. When will it air??
The description of the series doesn’t do a lot for me, but it’s not the idea it’s what you do with it that matters. The fact the series takes its inspiration from a book with the title “Dissident” makes me think there’s a bit more going on with the show that the brief logline would indicate. That and the fact that Josh Holloway seems to have been pretty choosy about which projects to go with post-LOST.
I really like Holloway as an actor. It’s very surprising some studio hasn’t thrown the banks at him for a movie franchise.
When does this show begin to air, please?? I will give it a try only because Josh Holloway is in it. I loved him in LOST and I think he’s a great actor.
You have, through wonderful storytelling on your part, landed in a nest of Hollywood bigwigs. I’m sure they’ll pick wisely. But no matter who they pick- I’m watching it!
Yay I have been waiting for him to be back on TV so long! I always thought he should be on Hawaii Five O instead of Scott Caan or in movies but I will watch this show for sure!
