Justin Timberlake will make his fifth appearance as host on Saturday Night Live on March 9, pulling double-duty as musical guest. It comes 10 days before his latest album drops. That makes Timberlake a member of SNL‘s Five-Timers Club, which has grown in ranks since that hilarious 1990 skit in which Tom Hanks hosted for a fifth time and was ushered into a secret back-room clubhouse with fellow five-timers Elliott Gould, Paul Simon, Steve Martin in smoking jackets and Jon Lovitz making muffins as the butler (check out the video below — maybe they’ll update it for Timberlake, who already has won two Emmys for his hosting). Meanwhile, the NBC also show confirmed actor-comedian Kevin Hart will host March 2 with musical guest Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

A fantastic bit I remember from the original airing. Sweet Conan sighting, too.
Timberlake is such a talented musician and actor. can’t get enough of him. NOHOMO!
Timberlake is such a talented musician and…thats it.
What a great clip. Current players should study this for inspiration. What was Nader doing there, though?
That was a very, very young Conan O’Brien as the first butler who welcomes him into the club!
Head on down to Liqueurville!
Yep, SNL used to be funny. Those were the days . . .
Used to be funny?!!! What planet are you living on. Saturday Night Live is still pretty awesome. Justin Timberlake is very talented and absolutely funny. He makes a wonderful host. Your head must be buried underneath a rock.
People are so confused with this idea that Timberlake is funny/talented as an SNL host because of the Andy Samberg bits he appeared in.
Replace Timberlake in “D*ck In A Box” with Jon Hamm and it’s just as funny…probably even funnier.
When Timberlake is in a skit that isn’t from Samberg (see him as Peg in a Target Lady skit) he’s mugging and hamming it up. The audience is enthralled because they’re seeing a hugely famous pop star but not a talented comedian.
Overrated. 100%.
You said it JJ… good points…frankly I won’t be watching BECAUSE its Timberlake… SNL has lost who it once was… I am so done with NBC and SNL…CYA
JJ, I concur. Justin Timberlake only shines when he is playing himself- it is very similar to Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lawrence. The SNL producers find sketches for him to play up to his personality. Recently, they did this with Bruno Mars when he hosted. When Timberlake is out of his acting element, you quickly notice his acting weaknesses ( for example, Friends With Benefits, The Social Network, In Time, and Bad Teacher ). Justin barely had a pulse in Friends With Benefits- no film presence, very lazy acting, and no personality.
What you said . . . . . . begainning to think I was the only one who saw through J. Lawrence annoying shtick, guess not. And just because Timberlake can ham it up and bring a audience doesn’t make him a comedic talent or a brillant thespian.
Words like ‘talent’ are thrown around too much these days.
also of note in that 5-timers club is an appearance by Conan O’Brien (he’s the guy you see in the still shot you see of the paused video above)
Didn’t they do this with Alec Baldwin or Martin Short too?
When no one else or a project is DOA who ya ginna call? – JT as in lightweight.
The mention of his name tells me either they can’t get anyone or a script with regards to film is awful. Awful
How’s this: awful awful
Timberlake in movies confounds me. It’s like Ashton Kutcher where despite the continue lack of star power, box office, acting ability, etc. they continually give him lead roles. Of course its Hollywood so a I guess a pretty face is all you need. Wait…that doesn’t explain bloated Vince Vaughn and walnut faced Owen Wilson. Oh well, Timberlake’s appearance on SNL has ‘fast forward’ written all over it. Not only do we get his insufferable bad vaudeville “comedy’ but his equally grating ‘your not Robin Thicke’ falsetto attempt.
