Keith David (The Cape) has been cast in Enlisted, Fox’s single-camera comedy pilot from Cougar Town co-creator Kevin Biegel, which he is executive producing with Mike Royce. Based on Biegel’s relationship with his siblings, the 20th TV-produced project follows three very different brothers working together in the Army at a small base in Florida. David, repped by Stone Manners Salners Agency and manager Josh Silver, will play Command Sergeant Major Cody Wallace, an intimidating, firm but fair 30-year army veteran who puts the oldest brother in charge of a unit of “dipsh*ts and slackers.”
Rescue Me alum Jack McGee has been cast in the CBS/Sony TV single-camera comedy pilot The McCarthys. Written by Brian Gallivan, directed by Fred Savage and executive produced by Will Gluck, it revolves around an Irish-Catholic, sports-crazed Boston clan and the gay son whose greatest sin is not his sexuality but his desire to spend less time with his family. McGee will play the father, a not always politically correct high school basketball coach. McGee, repped by APA and Semler Entertainment, recently co-starred on USA’s Common Law and in Gangster Squad.
