Pan Am alumna Kelli Garner has landed the female lead in Two Wrongs, Fox’s comedy pilot from writer Michelle Morgan, Chernin Entertainment and 20th TV. The relationship comedy centers on Zach and Jenny (Garner), a couple whose friends and family don’t think they are right for each other.
Rules Of Engagement regular Adhir Kalyan has been cast as a lead in NBC’s untitled Robert Padnick/Greg Daniels comedy pilot, from 3 Arts and Universal TV. It is a look at the trials and tribulations of dating in your twenties and centers on bright-eyed and vulnerable Matthew being pushed by his three best friends to get back on the dating horse. Kalyan will play one of the friends, Matt’s roommate Arthur, the “ladies man” of the group who shares all of his bro tips with Matt to get him laid. Kalyan’s casting is technically in second position to Rules, which appears unlikely to continue but has not been cancelled. He joins Rules co-star Patrick Warburton who also booked a pilot. South African Kalyan, repped by Thruline, Abrams Artists and Jeff Bernstein, also starred on the CW’s Aliens In America and recurred on FX’s Nip/Tuck.
Newcomer Samantha Isler has landed the female lead opposite Sean Hayes in NBC’s untitled Sean Hayes/Victor Fresco multi-camera comedy pilot. Written by Fresco and directed by James Burrows, the comedy, from Universal TV and Hazy Mills, centers on Sean (Hayes), who must figure out how to parent his 14-year-old daughter (Isler), who just moved in, while navigating a temperamental new boss (Thomas Lennon) at work. Isler, repped by Coast To Coast and Protege Entertainment, recently wrapped the lead in the indie Dig Two Graves.
