Krysten Ritter is eying a quick return to primetime. The star of ABC’s recently cancelled Don’t Trust The B—- In Apt. 23 has been tapped as the lead of NBC‘s single-camera comedy pilot Assistance, from Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Prods and Universal TV. Ritter also will serve as a producer on the project, written by Leslye Headland. Additionally, I’ve learned that Ritter, who was hotly pursued for comedy pilots the moment she became available last month, has signed a first-look deal with Universal TV.
Based on a play by Headland, Assistance is described as a fast-moving comedy centered on Nora (Ritter), an idealistic “working girl” assistant who is pulled between her colleague (“work husband”) and her real-life fiance while trying to manage a demanding (translation: crazy) boss. Despite largely positive response from critics and a cult following, Don’t Trust The B— couldn’t find a wide audience and was hurt by ABC’s decision to move it to Tuesday this season. As a producer, Ritter recently developed and executive produced the MTV pilot Cassandra French’s Finishing School for Boys. She is with WME, The Group Entertainment, Sanders Armstrong Caserta and attorney Dave Feldman.

A hot talent. With a big future.
Yeah…so hot everything she has done been mediocre.
Well, she certainly was memorable and kicked ass on a little show called BREAKING BAD. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?
So I guest Breaking Bad is mediocre too? Shut up troll!
Absolutely correct ! Why didn’t ABC sign her to a first look deal, because of her great buzz, rave reviews, and her talent ? Who the heck is running these tv networks ?! I hope Krysten Ritter can eventually make the leap to feature films.
Watching her on Don’t Trust the B was like listening to Nails on a chalk board. *Shudder* When will people realize she doesn’t have a range and can’t hold a show.
She’s amazing. Her role on breaking bad was astonishing. How she goes from drama to comedy is impressive.
Love Krysten Ritter – she is an amazing talent. And hot.
She is an incredible talent AND a GREAT producer. I recently worked for her on a project that she executive produced. Incredible instincts. Wonderful to work with. Sharp. Any project with her in the lead AND behind the camera? Guaranteed hit.
that was fast. I miss Dont Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23 but happy as long as she’s on my tv weekly.
I love her. A self made woman. Nice to see someone succeed with out nepotism.
that was fast!!!!!! I wish Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apt 23 wasn’t cancelled. but i’m selfishly happy to get to see her on my tv every week.
Wow, plant. Exactly, how many of these idiotic “she’s a star” posts did you type. Talk about trolling for compliments….she’s better off hearing the truth. The B in Apt 23 was atrocious and this pilot sounds like more BULLSHIT.
I didn’t like the first few episodes of Don’t Trust the B…, but it got better and became one of the shows I looked forward to. I was very disappointed to hear they canceled it. Just because you didn’t like, doesn’t mean you are the only one with a valid opinion.
I feel the same way. If she had been given a wider audience, perhaps followed a show on another network like I don’t know Fox’s New Girl, then maybe she would have had a larger following. Hey somebody teach this girl how to use social media too!
She could read the phone book and I would be entertained. I’d watch her in anything, especially this.
I like Ritter. She’s a bit of an acquired taste, and can be a bit much at first, but I think she’s kind of funny.
funny and a breath of fresh air in a sea of fake faced mystic tans.
Rip don’t trust the b in apartment 23, it was a really good show, and she was great in it, too bad abc cancelled it, really hope happy endings comes back if not on abc then tbs
A big reason b…. Didn’t work was because Ritter is unlikeable in a leading role. She was the same in don’t trust the b as she was in out of my league. Played it the same. Sorry. I just don’t get all the hype.
ha you are so wrong. the reason the B worked was because of ritter. no one else could have played that part. She’s electric.
each to their own. but you are wrong. Ritter can do no wrong. She has proven she has great range. Breaking bad anyone????? and producing too!! wow
Ritter is an unstoppable force AND a pleasure to work with. I worked with her on apt 23. Gracious and professional. a true pro through and through. Love you girl. happy for you
I’ve been a fan of Krysten Ritter ever since her appearance on Breaking Bad. Very much looking forward to seeing her again soon on NBC.
Happy for ritter. wish she was starring in films tho. but the 1st look deal sounds like shes taking names!
LOVE HER. Congrats.
She’s a movie star. all there is to it.
ABC Treated Apartment 23 like an unwanted baby on strangers doorstep. I’m sure NBC will be much better to her.
I worked with Krysten Ritter and she’s true talent and a great team captain. She’s a girl that shows up prepared but she still she can hang with the crew and have fun on set. CONGRATS. I hope this show is as good as she is. No one deserves it more. (Krysten I’m proud of you)
I didn’t like “the B?…bit I thought she was great as Jane in Breaking Bad.
Maybe if the show hadn’t have been titled “Don’t trust the BITCH in Apt. 23″ it would have found a wider audience.
Maybe you’re grandma panties are too tight.
Agreed. I was so turned off by the title I chose not to tune in.
So nice that her Facebook friends are so supportive, but come on. Her death on BB was the best thing she’s ever done. Oh, and eat a burrito.
She also does music – Ex Vivian
Ritter is HEAVEN. I hope NBC realizes what a star they have here. That was ABC’s mistake.
Love Ritter, she made the “B” work.. shame on ABC for cancelling a show that was just a little bit different..
