Deadline brought you the first look at the operatic teaser trailer for Rob Zombie‘s The Lords Of Salem and now we’ve got an exclusive clip from the rocker-turned-filmmaker’s sixth feature, about a Salem, MA disc jockey (Sheri Moon Zombie) who unleashes ancient evils when she plays a mysterious record. Anchor Bay opens the pic in 75 markets April 19, the distrib’s biggest release to date, after snatching it up for $2 million out of Toronto. The pic screens in the Midnight section at SXSW next month before it debuts in theaters.

Rob Zombie is a DREADFUL writer and director. I’m not surprised a major studio wouldn’t touch this crap. The guy should stick to the concert stage and leave filmmaking to those who know how.

Same could be said for many old horror/b-horror flicks from decades ago. If they were pitched nowadays they likely wouldn’t get picked up either. They are amazing films and zombie has stated many times he tries to direct odes to those who paved the way for modern movies. He films using throwback elements and paying tribute–those are the things that you don’t appreciate . You are a “modern day wanna be critic” congrats on sounding arrogant.

Rob Zombie has made 1, just 1 good film. The Devil’s Rejects. He butchered Halloween. He keeps casting his wife who has the acting chops of a telephone pole. How can anyone continue to priade his film work?
I am very excited to see this movie. I think Rob Zombie is the best new horror director of the 21st century and none of his movies have disappointed me yet so I’m sure this won’t be any exception.
Excited to see this film. I enjoy everything he’s done so far, and his looks a bit different from his other stuff, while remaining familiar at the same time. If your a fan of horror and Rob, check it out. If you’re not a fan of Rob or horror don’t waste your time commenting on it, and trashing the film because it just makes you look stupid. I’m glad a major studio wouldn’t touch it because major studios ruin everything they touch. Major studios don’t treat horror films with the care they deserve, as a wonderful art form. Major studios look atbthem as a quick cash grab because they know horror fans are the best in the industry andnwill go see anything in the genre, so please keep horror out of the hands of major studios and in the hands of the people who truly care about the genre and are fans of it, because the treat it with he care and honor it truly deserves.

“HALLOWEEN 2 ” was the Worst piece of cinematic CRAP I’ve ever seen.
Acting is awesome as far as I Hear and see it. To call Rob Zombie a DREADFUL writer or Director is like saying… George A Romero can’t make zombie films. Rob has more passion and put more hard work into his films than most horror/shocker writers and directors. I don’t think anyone can judge from a 15 second video clip. If you don’t like his older movies it’s either because your a internet troll, or simply just don’t enjoy his films due to the content and some of the gruesome characters. Don’t bash someone because you don’t share the same ideas of a script or a film. Can’t wait to see this

It’s funny how haters always got something to say when their not doing anything. Rob is an artist just like any other Director, and I hate it when people through negative darts at others. If you don’t like Rob Zombie’s work don’t watch it, but until you can do better SHUT THE F*** UP!
Rob Zombie, is a great writer/director the reason being is he doesn’t use the same old hack and slash bullshit, He has story behind his work, and why the characters do the things they do, not just walk into a house and dead we get to see the characters for who they are first. His movies are beyond my favorite so far i am a huge fan of his music and his movies! no one makes a good wicked film like ROB! ROCK ON!!!
This clip doesn’t make me want to see the movie, but I’ll watch it regardless. His movies have been okay, Devil’s Rejects being the best. I love his music and his artistic direction for movies. It’s either a good story or it’s not. I’m not going to rave about it just because I like his music, which seems to be all you people like to do. Just because someone makes 1 or 2 good movies, or is successful in another venture, doesn’t mean everything they touch is gold.
A good original movie of any genre is very rare these days,RZ has
been spot on House made the Devil’s cannot belive any sequel is
better than the original this one looks like his masterpiece to date
as for Halloween remakes they were great in their own right even #2 did the series justice that being said the the most original idea was
#3 season of the witch, which only gets the shaft cuz no Michael
latley remakes have outshined originals but Lords looks Shining Good.
