UPDATE: CBS just confirmed Mark Harmon‘s new contract extension and announced that NCIS has been officially renewed for next season. ”In a world gone niche, NCIS keeps getting bigger, and Mark Harmon continues to define the role of leading man on the #1 show on television,” said CBS Corp. CEO Leslie Moonves. “NCIS is the type of franchise every company wants in today’s global content ecosystem — high-quality storytelling that generates passionate viewers and drives revenue on every conceivable platform.”
PREVIOUS EXCLUSIVE: CBS has secured the future of its top-rated drama. Mark Harmon, star of the network’s NCIS, has signed a new multiyear deal to continue on the veteran series. With him on board, NCIS‘s renewal for an 11th season becomes a pure formality and an early pickup is expected. Just like they did with Harmon’s previous deal two years ago, the actor, CBS and NCIS producer CBS TV Studios wrapped negotiations early, with this year’s pact signed within a day of the one in 2011, which was announced on February 2 that year.
Details about Harmon’s deal are being kept under wraps. I hear it is likely for two years and gives him a healthy raise over the most recent salary of more than $500,000 an episode, possibly over $700,000 an episode. In addition to starring, Harmon, repped by Paradigm and attorney Barry Axelrod, serves as an executive producer/profit participant on NCIS and has a production deal with CBS TV Studios for his company Wings Prods.
The Mark Harmon deal and potential early renewal come on the heels of NCIS delivering its second largest Live+same day audience two weeks ago (22.86 million viewers). That total rose to 25.36 million viewers in L+3, marking the first NCIS broadcast to deliver more than 25 million viewers in Live + DVR viewing. In its 10th season, NCIS continues to fire on all cylinders. For the first time ever, it ranks as television’s most watched program, ahead of Sunday Night Football. NCIS is averaging 21.48 million viewers (in most current ratings), up +7% over last year. It is the highest rated drama among adults 25-54 (5.9/15) and averages a strong 4.2/12 in adults 18-49.
NCIS is also licensed in more than 200 markets and ranks as the as cable’s No.1 off-network drama in domestic syndication, boosting ratings for USA. NCIS stars Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, Sean Murray, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, Brian Dietzen and David McCallum. Most of the cast’s contracts are on a different schedule, with only Harmon and de Pablo’s pacts up the same year. De Pablo has not closed a new deal yet but is expected to. Gary Glasberg, Chas. Floyd Johnson, Floyd Johnson, Mark Horowitz, Mark Harmon, Shane Brennan, George Schenck, Frank Cardea and Donald P. Bellisario are executive producers for Belisarius Prods. in association with CBS Television Studios.

I too love NCIS. I am 61 an would hate to loose this show.Both my husband an I watch it, never miss a show. We are such fans that we watch the old shows on USA. If they would take this show off I would be devastated, it is the one thing I look forward to each week. I too believe it is the greatest show on TV. I love all the characters an feel a connection to them.

GREAT show in all areas. The writers, directors and producers have done a wonderful job. Never gets boring. We enjoy all the characters. Different personalities that compliment each other.
I read that at first they were worried if ‘pretty boy’ Harmon could play the part of a tough marine and leader. He answered that question on the first show. We have watched it from the first episode and have never been disappointed ! We watch reruns also. LOL

I agree 100% with this, so many shows think that they have 2 use bad language & it ruins the shows, just like a lot of movies ruined because of the bad language, I love this show & am so glad that they r going 2 keep it on

Rocky needs to go, in my worthless opinion. All of my friends agree that he is the only negative on the show. With his “wife” being killed, maybe they are going to write him out of the show…I hope. GO NCIS.
I agree with Larry Conner, Rocky Carroll needs to go. Period. He is nothing but a waste of time for NCIS viewers. If at all, they don’t need a director like him, if they did a man of character would be in my opinion, Dennis Haysbert. Director Vance is a pathetic jerk like Capt. Norville on Revolution is. Put him on that show! GO NCIS!

Rocky provides a balance to the show. Any one who has worked in any office situation knows that there is always one character, usually a boss, that you have to “step around” . I think his part provides this balance. But I sure do miss Directer Shepard!
I think all of us in a wierd TV kinda way look at the entire NCIS Family as our Family too!! I watch every re-run & of course Tuesday night. I feel that Rocky needs to stay because he knows what they’re doing & he stays out of the way, hacking & the way they get to the truth the ways they get there take a strong boss to turn his head after a smile acknoledges they are doing so. His role is much smaller than Jenny. I love this show, so if 25 million plus watch & love WHERE ARE ALL THE AWARDS HOLLYWOOD??
Supposedly Rocky Carroll is supposed to be leaving NCIS, but as his IMDb page shows nothing new I suppose we will just have to wait and see. While I don’t always like his character he does provide that one important balance to the show and make it more plausible. And on the subject of Director Shepard, I believe if she does come back it won’t be some small gesture. If you look at the plot points and connect them she may not be dead, it may be part of some greater cover-up, some secret plot which has been brewing for some time. They may be waiting to pull this trump card, like to bring back viewers or something along those lines. It’s been 5 years so we will just have to wait and see. But NCIS is a fantastic show, I am 32 years old, I have 3 kids and it’s a show I don’t have to over-think with the kids around. There’s no language, it’s fast paced, intense and I can watch episode after episode(usually during USA’s many marathons) without feeling bored
If you’re going to bring back anybody, it should be “Mike” or “Kate”. Never liked “Shepard”. “Rocky”‘s OK. Not great, but OK.

You can not take it off the Air I watch NCIS all the time. I have been watching it from Day 1. I have not miss a ESP seance its been on so keep it on. I have NO ADDICTIONS of any sort …..except NCIS!!! Love the entire cast and would hate to ever see any of my (family) replaced! NCIS is my favorite of all other on TV…. I could, if posssible, watch it all day every day even reruns… The actors seem as a family made for Gibbs and he cares for them as his own is now gone. A perfectly written storyline that carries over. I have so much respect for Mark Harmon as he commmands his little family and seems to keep to temperature of each show perfect: enough comedy, enough caring, enough intrigue. Of course, this goes to writers, congratulations to writers, actors, and all. My tv can stay dark unless I get the chance to see this great team in action.. Long may they live! And to Mark Harmon, I have long admired his acting seems like real life, he has not changed a bit in my book, he looks as fit and good looking as ever!

When NCIS first started I was working nights. Now that I’m retired I never miss a show. They do a lot of re-runs, what not put the very first showing of NCIS on. Let people know about it. I would love to see how this show came together. In fact I have my TV on to NCIS. I think it’s one of the BEST shows on TV. See America, you can have a good show on TV without ALL that CUSSING. I’m ONE of NCIS’S BIGGEST fans.
NCIS is even more awesome because it was a spinoff of the TV show JAG and in my opinion it has definitely exceeded the show from which it was spun off (a pretty good show in its own right.) For a spin off to surpass its original is pretty rare.
Thank God there will be another season of the best show on TV, NCIS. I don’t know what I would do without NCIS and the whole cast!

I hate this combo of Jamie Lee Curtis and Mark Harmon…..Jamie Lee Curtis is so sleezy…needs to grow up and stop showing so much cleavage on the show and wear big girl clothes. I thought I would never stop watching this show but she can get me to never turn the tube back on, again. Comes across as a call girl in her actions in this season. BLECH.

I think that Mark Harmon has the most expressive face and I like every thing that I have read about him. He has led a life that few actors have led and I praise God for giving him such a talent. It is the BEST show ever. It is funny, exciting, serious, and dynamic all rolled into one! Michael is the best. He makes the show with his good looks, charm, sense of humor, and his serious side. Then Cote and Mark are 2nd and 3rd. If Michael wasn’t on the show it would not be as good. I think the spark of attraction between Michael and Cote make it romatic as well. I love everyone on the show. The actor lineup is what makes it work as well as the writers.

Good news: that essential item that, at times, gets misplaced called ..TV remote…gives you such freedom to change the channel and bitch about another program, or watch some other mindless program. Isn’t that great? And here you thought you were out of options..don’t fret..there’s a lot of garbage on TV in which to waste your time.
I agree that the show is dumb and the mysteries are as deep as a puddle. Sure, the cast works well together -your bound after 10 years on the air- but to me, it’s not a reason to watch it. It’s formulaic, it’s predictable and like CSI and every other show on CBS, five minutes after you watch it, you’ve forgotten the story.
This show works because it has a beginning, a middle and an end -perfect for a good percentage of Americans who ask little or nothing from their entertainment.
I watched this show for like the first five seasons, but got bored with mystery -my God, I could figure whodunnit before the first act break. Then I would watch sporadically over the last few years and found that the stories are still dull, pointless and a box of hair could figure out who the killer was.
Great chemistry with the cast, but beyond that, I find nothing else exciting about this or its ridiculous spin-off.
You don’t have to watch it. It is a great show with wonderful cast members.

NCIS is a show that is well written and acted. Each character is in constant evolution. One starts to feel like they really know the characters. I guess you prefer “reality” shows like Honey Boo Boo. Some people don’t know quality when they see it.

This show can stay forever. It Never gets old. This is one of the best “FAMILIES” on TV. I hope every main actor stays. We love them all. The chemistry is perfect. They all fit together better then most families.
I watch the reruns constantly and enjoy them as if they were new.
I also like the new NCIS.LA…. I think that group “family” is perfect too. They grabbed you the first time they were on. Many of my friends feel the same as me.
