Twilight writer Melissa Rosenberg, executive producer/showrunner of ABC/ABC Studios’ upcoming drama series Red Widow, has boarded another ABC/ABC Studios drama project as showrunner, pilot Big Thunder. Rob Bowman (Castle) is directing the pilot, written by Jason Fuchs. Based on Disney’s Big Thunder Mountain roller coaster ride, Big Thunder centers on a brilliant, late 19th century New York doctor. He and his family are given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to relocate to a frontier mining town run by a powerful, but mysterious tycoon but quickly realize that not everything in Big Thunder is as it seems. For Rosenberg, the gig stems from the overall deal she signed with ABC Studios for her Tall Girls Prods. in October. She executive produces Big Thunder with Fuchs and Chris Morgan. Red Widow, which UTA-repped Rosenberg adapted from the Dutch series Penoza, premieres March 3.

Awesome
Her schedule will probably be too full to take on the spinning tea cups.
Good for MR. Take the money and runnnn!
I hope this makes it; it just might bring me back to watching American network television again. I have up a few years ago. American networks need to take a page from Korean broadcasters, 16-20 episodes that’s it no more then move on to something else. Instead they milk a series until its dead.
Yeah The sopranos sucked after 20 episodes, didn’t it
Sopranos definitely got silly, bro…
ABC gets less interesting with each passing logline…
Could not agree more!
ABC main demographic is women. Television writing on shows directed at women has not been as progressive for women as it has been for men. As male viewer you have to be a bit more open minded to enjoy shows like Nashvile and Revenge. Cable will start more attempts at female anti-heroes over the next couple years.
You don’t have to be open-minded to watch Nashville, Revenge, or any other ABC soap opera. All you have to do is be willing to sit around and be BORED while watching white women stare blankly into space, stomach the homosexual men banter, and get through all the trashy bed hopping/ mate swapping scenes. Watch one episode of any soap opera and then watch one episode of another and you quickly realize it’s the same garbage week after week. It doesn’t require intelligence, a quizzical mind, or presnt anything challenging. All you need is a repugnant mindset and weak values to enjoy a steady diet of lowest common denominator filth. This is why women are flocking to CBS as viewers. They’re sick of the soap garbage. And if you don’t believe that, just take a look at last week’s top 25 tv shows according to demographics. CBS blew away ABC, NBC, and FOX.
What happened to all that Thunder Paul Lee was supposed to bring to the network…
Now he’s taking ideas from theme park rides?
So much for all that cred.
