No way Nicki……I loved the show and thought Justin showed that he COULD act…especially when he winks when he says he is only 11 years old…..very sophisticated take. He is easy and comfortable in front of the camera.
Boy, there are a lot of Bieber fans that read Deadline!! Bottom line is, Lorne could’ve chosen ANY homeless person off the street, and they would’ve done MUCH better than Bieber did. Every single second of that was painful to watch. Every second. Period.
Act? SNL should be ashamed. None of it was funny. It all catered to the young girls in the audience. Showing his abs and constantly whaling, or i guess what he calls singing. Boy does his voice suck. He sounds like someone is murdering a cat. The whole thing was an embarrassing display.

Bieber was stiff and uncomfortable in almost every sketch.
Almost EVERY host has appeared stiff and uncomfortable in nearly every sketch…even the regular players…since 1975. They rarely look each other in the eyes because they are reading cue cards for chrissake. I don’t know what’s jammed up Nikki’s kazoo but I think Justin Bieber did a respectable job. Far better than many seasoned performers who’ve crashed and burned when hosting SNL.

The only reason why I even watched this episode was because I love SNL more than I hate JB. In EVERY sketch, his only way to be “funny” was by singing, dancing, and showing off his “cute” features to teenage girls. Not very impressing, or good for that matter.
Justin can’t act at all. That was just painful. He tried, he did what they told him, he was professional. But he simply can’t act. And can’t be funny. There was not a single laugh from his performance.
I agree. He wasn’t really that funny and he could’ve tried a little harder with his acting. Eh, you know what they say, he is a “singer” not an actor.
I was prepared to hate him before watching the clip. However, he wasn’t that bad. I’ve certainly seen worse on this show.

Sorry… I must agree with Nikki… Bieber is cringe worthy. I couldn’t watch SNL…. turned it off after a few minutes.
Anyone who says JB showed be can act on SNL must be a teenage girl obsess with him. He was awful and if you watch SNL regularly, you could tell by the cast members faces in the sketch with him that they too thought he was terrible. Where Beiber shines is signing and you could see he was much more comfortable performing his music versus acting in the show. Not everyone is a triple threat and that’s totally okay. He can sing and dance – has made a ton of money doing that. Maybe he should just leave acting to the pros.
Oh FYI – the rude comment left about the difference between a sketch and a skit… calm down. Speaking from personal experience, sketch and skit are commonly interchanged in the world of improv. Perhaps spend a little time at some improv studios before you respond with a post that’s just plain wrong.
He can’t even sing. At least he shines at copying JT, Usher and MJ’s dance moves! Bitch bye!

Lindsay Lohan was out of the park bad. I’ve seen nothing that compares to that mess. JB is young impressionable precocious doing a pitiful attempt to talk colloquially out of his demographic. He’s a kid that drives a lamborghini and dates women who look like his baby sitter. The kid doesn’t believe the image and looks lost behind the “curtain” So to me JB just looked like a kid that was pulled out of the audience to act like JB

I have no idea if you are truly an ‘insider’ , but wasn’t similar heard from cast members after his CSI appearance? SNL has been going down hill for a while, but, sorry Justin fans, this was particularly bad because of his efforts or lack there of. Really cringe worthy and embarrassing.

Having been blessedly unexposed to this teen phenomonen until now, I tuned in to see what all the fuss is about. He is very comfortable in front of an audience. A few years doing live shows will do that to almost anyone. What I found most disturbing was his appropriation of the language rhythms and speech of young inner city black men as his own. Where was he raised, Detroit? This brazen artificial street cred was ridiculous and insulting. Why doesn’t anyone call him on it?

Biebers performance was awkward, he came off nasty and very narcissitic. The singer was agonizing to watch.
