EXCLUSIVE: Glee co-executive producer Stacy Traub has inked an overall deal with ABC Studios. Under the pact, she is joining the studio’s ABC comedy pilot Middle Age Rage as executive producer. Written by Cheryl Holliday, Middle Age Rage chronicles what happens when a middle-aged wife and mother is fed up with feeling invisible and begins to speak up and demand the respect she feels she’s earned. Holliday and Traub executive produce with Amblin TV’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. Notes From The Underbelly creator Traub sold a couple of projects this season, including a comedy starring Rachael Harris and The Office‘s Angela Kinsey, which had a put pilot commitment at Fox. She is with UTA.
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

My boss used to call that other show NOTES FROM THE UNDERFUNNY.
This a great signing and a dream pairing. Stacy and Cheryl are two of the funniest writers in the business.
Failing upwards.
So now I’m starting to understand the TV business. “Two put pilots” means neither will be shot and the writer will be available for a rich overall deal immediately after the networks pay to not shoot the pilots.
Booooooo. Wanker.
Stacy is great!! So happy for her.
Think it’s a funny premise, but wonder how you get 100 episodes out of a woman telling people off. Sounds like a Cougartown where they’ll ditch the premise by the third episode.
This is a wild development. I’ve written Stacy and a bunch of other people letters in the past and she’s the only one who’s written me back. I’ve also written speculative scripts for Notes from the Underbelly AND various multi-cams. I think this show sounds really funny and Cheryl is going to be a great writer someday if her credits are any indication. There’s way too much hatred on this board for people who are just mad about the success of people who weren’t afraid to dream. I’m a dreamer myself and I’m going to have my own show AND my own headline on Deadline someday and everyone will be like “This guy is crap. His show is crap.” And I won’t even care because you are jealous. Congrats Stacy and Cheryl!!! Can’t wait to see the work of your mind!
You sound like a stalker.
Post of the day!
I’m not a stalker or a guy who would stalk anyone ever. I just think it’s a good idea/concept and the people who are doing it are cool and funny and do cool stuff and the people who are trying to throw salt in their game are just jealous BUTTS. A lot of people on this board are butts and it’s a shame when it should be a forum for congratulating achievements and success and not being a butt. What’s there even not to like about this fr&#gin idea? If it was a show about a monster trying to bring Hitler back to life and marry him THEN I can see having a problem with it. I mean, think about it. PERSPECTIVE PEOPLE. Let’s just say this sounds like good fun and Stacey Trab and Charly Holiday are gonna make it fun. Rock on ladies and mahalo! (Go Hawaii!)
Gregory,TV Writer, I’m about to make half of your dream come true. You’re crap and your show is crap.
To clarify, Wanker comment for Agentassistant comment above.
Chuck Lorre’s first show was similar in theme: a middle aged woman finally standing up for herself. “Frannie’s Turn” ran less than six episodes. May this show have a better run.
Worked with her before – she’s smart and a hard-worker – surprised this didn’t happen sooner.
Stacy is an amazing writer and one of my favorite people. I had the pleasure of working with her on Kitchen Confidential and then for her on Notes From the Underbelly, where she gave me my first staff writer job. I learned so much about from her not only about writing, but about how to behave while running a show. If I’d never met Stacy, there is no way I would have a show on the air right now. But I did, and I do. Congratulations Stacy, well-deserved.
Then I like Stacy. Because “Suits” is fantastic.
Stacy gave me my first job in LA. She’s great, very funny, and this is well deserved!
Hey Aaron– I’ve seen your show. If I had a time machine I would go back in time to make sure you never met Stacey Traub.
