Will Greenberg, Lauren Lapkus (Are You There Chelsea?) and Asif Ali round out the cast of NBC‘s multi-camera comedy pilot Joe, Joe & Jane. The project, from writers-executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman and 20th Century Fox TV, is loosely based on the relationship between Port, Wiseman and Wiseman’s wife. It centers on Joe Waxman (Greenberg), a conflict-avoidant children’s book author caught in an ongoing tug of war between two needy, flawed people: his wife Jane (Sally Pressman) and his handsome ladies man co-author/ best friend Joe Dougan (Dave Annable). Lapkus plays Melissa, Jane’s always-on-call friend. Ali plays Matt, Joe and Joe’s “bro” of an agent, a former frat boy.

So basically, this is NBC’s heterosexual version of “Partners.” I’ll pass.
The material is SO much better than “Partners”.
It’s not about a couple it’s about a trouple. That’s why it will be a hit show. Trouples are what has been missing from network television.

I love lox, built-in furniture, and dogs named duke. This was a great script. The marketing team needs to find this show’s equivalent to New Girls’ “Adorkable”.
If this pilot ever makes it to series, Lauren Lapkus will be the breakout. She’s funny without being harsh, lovable without being meek, she’s a comedy star with all the goods except for fame.
Sounds great to me. Glad to see that NBC was smart enough to cast Lauren Lapkus in this show. She was so funny on Are You There Chelsea.

I have no idea about the material, but I can tell you that Will Greenberg’s extremely talented. He read for me last year, and is going to make somebody’s project a huge success -Maybe it’s this. I Wish him the best!

Will Greenberg just needs one pilot to get picked up and then the world will know how funny and talented and charismatic he is. I hope its this one! He is truly the funniest around. Just give him an Emmy already, people .
