EXCLUSIVE: USA has given a pilot presentation order to a single-camera comedy written by and starring Upright Citizens Brigade alums Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair, the duo behind NBC’s Best Friends Forever. The Office‘s Zach Woods is eyed for another role in the project, directed by Jeffrey Blitz whose credits include The Office and Parks & Recreation. Like BFF, which also started as a presentation, the untitled USA project will be produced by Scot Armstrong and Ravi Nandan’s American Work. Universal Cable Prods. is the studio.
Based on the ultra-close friendship between Jessica St. Clair & Lennon Parham, the comedy is about what happens when single parent Lennon calls on her best friend, Jessica, single and career-focused, to help her raise her new baby. It’s a buddy comedy about two best friends who reunite just when they need each other most. Parham, St. Clair, Armstrong and Nandan are all exec producing.
The St. Clair/Parham presentation joins two single-camera comedy USA pilots which had been awaiting word on their fate — Paging Dr. Freed and Sirens.

These girls are the absolute best. Funny and believable. Really miss BFF. I can’t wait for this.
Womp it up!
Ugh. Smart UCB comics should not be doing hacky concepts like this. It’s as if they’re just doing exactly what they think a bad network exec would want.
The point of the alt comedy community should be driving interesting, fresh ideas, not the same old-same old like this. And USA should be seeking fresher concepts to kickstart its comedy block…
These women are hilarious, great writers, and great actresses. They’re better than the UCB world which is made of people who just don’t stop talking and a 5 dollar audience of overly supportive sycophants cheering at every improvised word.
If this was on a broadcast network I would be complaining my head off, but USA is looking to get in to comedy for the first time since 2000, so I’ll watch anything there. Still, Jessica St. Clair is pretty damn annoying.
I loved BFF. Please cast the girl that played Queeneeta on this show.
jessica st clair is hilarious
I love these girls so freaking much. Smart comedy with heart.
These two are the funniest people on TV. BFF was incredible, funny and smart – NBC’s loss. They’ll be great no matter what they are in. Congrats ladies!
Oh good, another show about white rich people with babies. I was wondering when we’d get another one of those
Lennon is a comedic genius. I know they’re BFFs, but she can’t keep hitching her wagon to the flat, annoying, and overall dull St. Clair. Lennon: Just like the Beatles, cut your losses with YOUR Pete Best and MOVE ON!
These gals are hilarious and BFF shouldn’t have been cancelled. There, I said it. I don’t think the show got the chance it deserves. Whatever one may think about comedy driving fresh blah blah blah, these ladies work from the heart and the gut. Truth is more important than impresing folks with your alt-comedy street cred.
A huge fat DITTO to this entire comment. I still mourn the loss of BFF. That’s the only sitcom that come out last season that I liked and it was canned. Looking forward to seeing what they do this time!
I was just thinking about BFF today and how much I had enjoyed getting into it around this time last year. Oh, NBC why did you stick it out with Whitney, but tank BFF?
The show should really just be about Wompler and Listler
Perhaps UCB comics aren’t as “smart” as you like to think…
No one watched their first show, what makes USA think someone will watch this?
No one watched their first show because no one gave it a chance, including NBC. And Jessica St. Clair is HYSTERICAL. SO THERE.
Can’t wait to see what Jessica and Lennon do here. Loved BFF and was sad to see it go (especially since NBC under promoted the show and put it behind that god awful Betty White prank program). These women have real talent.
Spread the word folks. These two are hilarious!
We could all use more Zach Woods on TV!
While this duo is undeniably talented and funny, I’d love for them to tackle a premise that isn’t, “These two ladies are BEST FRIENDS. Yipeee!”
Conflict=comedy.
All I know is these two ladies made a video and posted it online just to wish my baby a happy 23rd birthday. Therefore, I think they are AWESOME, and I wish them success with this project.
Love these funny girls !!! I know it will be awesome
YES! Bring back Queenetta!!!
