Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson play a couple of 40-ish sales guys who find themselves suddenly obsolete and out of jobs. Desperate to remain relevant and employable, they try to land internships at Google. With (naturally) Google+ as a promotional partner 20th Century Fox rolls out the movie June 7. Directed by Shawn Levy and written by Vaughn and Jared Stern, The Internship also features Max Minghella, Rose Byrne, John Goodman, Josh Gad, B.J. Novak, Aasif Mandvi, and Will Ferrell among others.

this looks SO BAD. Just awful. And, I love wedding crashers, love the combo of VV & OW…but this looks dull and stupid and I didn’t laugh once at this trailer. Big bomb.
Love the thick Indian accent on the Step ‘n Fechit buffoon.
Hollywood wants everyone to share their liberal politics, but I’m going to have someone calling me racial slurs in school because of this. Thanks, Hollywood. No wonder people will real talent don’t want to go into your business anymore.
Great job giving ammo to the Prop 8 supporters and general racists everywhere.
You are all a bunch of trolls. Ammo to prop 8 supporters and racists? Wow. I can’t imagine all the shit you must’ve dealt with after the Slumdog Millionaire trailer. This movie looks funny as hell.
“No wonder people will real talent don’t want to go into your business anymore.”
I hope your alleged talent isn’t writing. Just saying.
oh oh.
That makes Google look really uncool…
Oh dear.
The Dilemma; Budget – 70m. Box office – 48m.
The Watch; Budget – 68m. Box office – 35m.
The Internship – ?
Damn that looks bad. Think I’ll just watch Wedding Crashers for the 10th time instead.
Yikes
My lord. I think we’re all just speechless. RIP Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson movies. We’ll always have Wedding Crashers.
It doesn’t look that bad. I got some genuine chuckles out of this trailer. The Dilemma on the other hand was horrible. And the Watch had a much worse trailer than this.
Yuk-Yuk.
Why do all studio comedies look so fucking stupid?
I assume this movie has already made its budget back, given it’s one big (and pretty terrible) ad for Google.
looks way funnier than all the other shit that’s coming out this year. much rather go see this than this is 40.
Google should have paid for the whole budget if the studio paid for this they were idiots it’s an infomercial movie the first of a new genre with complete corporate sponsorship. Could be the wave of the future if it makes money.
Google: The Motion Picture. I’ll pass.
You know there’s trouble when there’s references to two movies as pop culture gags (attempted) in a trailer. Who says wit and originality is dead in Hollywood.
Sorry, actually 3 references. I couldn’t get through the trailer originally.
I love both of those guys and thought it looked funny. But what do I know? I wasted fourteen bucks on Identity Thief this weekend.
seriously, all the negative comments?! that looks funny as spit! now, the test will be: can an actual full-length movie be as funny as the 2-min trailer? doubtful, but at least this looks promising.
It’s not such a terrible trailer – relax, people. Sure, it’s no Wedding Crashers, but then Wedding Crashers is no Wedding Crashers (it’s really not as great a comedy as many remember it to be, much like The Hangover is flashily directed but mediocre and undercooked). I’ll be interested to see how much this makes – the audience for VV/OW movies certainly isn’t what it used to be. But I hope it does well, as I like both these guys and want them back on top.
Wedding crashers is shaggy to be sure, but it’s got a LOT of funny in it. Is there one secondary character in this trailer that looks to have the potential to be remotely as funny as Kier O’Donell or Isla Fisher or Bradley Cooper in WC?
Rich people playing people down-on-their-luck. Hollywood’s version of relevance. Pass.
Oh — and such a funny concept to those who’ve been out of work for 18 months or longer.
I saw this at a test screening…it’s actually really funny…
DEAR GOD – say it ain’t so! These two AGAIN!?!? wtf- let them go. So boring and their comedy schtick is so bleh. STOP MAKING MOVIES WITH THESE GUYS. Ugh ugh ugh.
Nothing against Owen or Vince, but this just looks like they’re doing ths for the paycheck. This movie looks like a retread of everything from Old School to TV’s Community, only not as original or funny. Hard to imagine this is part of the summer blockbuster season.
Aside from being a nonstop Google ad, it treats a very painful situation for millions of workers in an insensitive manner. If I want to see a film about job loss and reinvention, I will stream or rent Up In The Air.
Sorry this is not arty enough for you, and for the record everyone is doing these for a paycheck. It’ll be big because it makes fun of a huge corporation and it has recognizable stars, and what else have we got to look forward to this summer? The average Joe is looking for a laugh these days……average Joe?…..totally unintended. As for the painful situation for millions of workers. It’s the world we live in, as envisioned by our leaders. Don’t blame Hollywood.
Ouch….looks awful
