EXCLUSIVE: WME has signed Mark Andrews. Sure you know him; he was the only Academy Award winner on Sunday who took the stage in a kilt, when he accepted the Best Animated Film prize for Brave with Brenda Chapman. He wrote and replaced Chapman as director on the Disney film.
Before that, Andrews co-wrote the script for John Carter. His first Oscar nomination came in 2006 for his work on the short film One Man Band. WME will help Andrews work on both live-action and animation projects in the future and explore opportunities in television as well.
He continues to be represented by Nancy Newhouse Porter from Newhouse Porter Hubbard.

cause they’ve done such an amazing job with Chris Sanders
I don’t think Chris Sanders has been available in a decade…
Brave and John Carter. Now there’s a resume.
Brenda Chapman rules!
One of 3 directors on Brave. “Writer” of John carter. And a co director of a so-so short cartoon. That agency has it all.
Haters! Mark is a genuinely talented guy. Let’s not forget that he came in more than half way through production and rescued Brave and that he was simply working with/for Andrew Stanton on John Carter.
Mark is one of the most talented story artists in the business and while you can certainly poke holes in Brave, the visual element of the storytelling is beyond criticism. Mark also worked very closely with Brad Bird on The Incredibles and that film is a masterpiece.
Give the guy a break and give him a shot on something of his own that he can build from the ground up. Then assess him.
Rescued?! You clearly know nothing about the making of Brave.
mike, that is the worst headline to ever be on DH and you know it!
So, now that this guy has left pixar, it’ll be interesting to see if he can do anything of any interest. I doubt it.
