Los Angeles – Executive Producer Cort Casady and Talent Producer Carole Propp have confirmed additional presenters to the talent line-up for the 2013 Writers Guild Awards L.A. ceremony this Sunday, February 17, at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE.
In addition to previously announced show host Nathan Fillion, the Emmy-winning actor currently starring as mystery novelist Richard Castle on ABC’s hit series Castle, this year’s presenters will include two-time Academy Award-nominee and Golden Globe-winning actress Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Modern Family co-stars, two-time Emmy-winning actress Julie Bowen and ALMA Award-winning actor Rico Rodriguez, Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Jane Lynch (Glee), Academy Award-winning director Steven Spielberg (Lincoln), two-time Academy Award-nominated actress Viola Davis (The Help), Screen Actors Guild Award-winning actress Kate Walsh (Private Practice, Grey’s Anatomy), two-time TV Guide Award-winning Castle co-star Stana Katic, three-time Writers Guild and nine-time Emmy Award-nominated actress-writer Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and her Parks and Recreation co-star, Independent Spirit Award-nominated actor Adam Scott, Emmy-nominated actress Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), Emmy-nominated actor Walton Goggins (Justified), actor Alfred Molina (Monday Mornings), Emmy and Writers Guild Award-winning Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, ALMA Award-winning actress Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), Emmy-winning actor Sam Waterston (The Newsroom), three-time Emmy-winning actor Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond), writer/actor/director Mark Duplass (The Mindy Project), screenwriters Jon Lucas & Scott Moore (The Hangover), and Writers Guild Award-nominated Key and Peele co-creators/co-stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.
In addition to Emmy and three-time Image Award-winning producer Casady (AFI Lifetime Achievement Awards and UNCF’s An Evening of Stars telecasts) and Propp (Primetime Emmy Awards, Tony Awards), the 2013 Writers Guild Awards West Coast ceremony will be directed by Joe DeMaio (Primetime Emmy Awards, MTV Movie Awards), with two-time Emmy Award winner and five-time WGA nominee Dave Boone (Tony Awards, Dancing with the Stars) returning as the show’s head writer.
Contributing creative direction to the Writers Guild Awards show, the WGAW’s Awards Committee includes Guild members Karen Harris (chair), Steve Chivers, Patrick Doody, Shelly Goldstein, Laurie Parres, and Scott Saltzburg.
The Writers Guild Awards honor outstanding writing in film, television, new media, videogames, news, radio and promotional writing, and graphic animation. The awards will be presented jointly in all competitive categories during simultaneous ceremonies this Sunday, February 17, 2013, in New York at the B.B. King Blues Club and in Los Angeles at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE.
