Annie Potts is set as the lead opposite Bridget Regan in ABC’s hourlong pilot Murder In Manhattan, executive produced by Ryan Reynolds. It is a dramedy set in New York centering on a mother, Blythe (Potts), and a daughter, Lex (Regan), who team up as amateur sleuths. Blythe is described as glamorous yet down to earth Park Avenue widow. For Potts, the project is in first position to her other pilot, USA comedy Paging Dr. Freed. Murder In Manhattan brings Designing Women alumna Potts back to ABC where she co-starred in another dramedy, series GCB. She is with Innovative, Frontline Management and attorney David Fox.TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

Yay! Have always loved Annie Potts! Hilarious in Designing Women! #Murder in Manhattan has a great cast lined up! Bridget Regan, Brenden Hines, Enver Gjokaj This is gonna be awesome. ?Please ABC pick up this pilot
such a sweet lady. good for her
Annie Potts and Bridget Regan as mother and daughter sleuths sounds like a winner to me! Can’t wait to see this!! So hope ABC makes this a regular in their line-up!!
Yea! Go Annie!
Does this mean that Paging Dr. Freed is done-zo?
Nice middle-of-the-road set-up a la “Murder She Wrote.” Super-appealing lead in the sublime, sexy Ms. Potts. No wannabe-cable edginess. No high concepts (time travel, Jekyll/Hyde, fairy tale, super-powers). Should do well in the right time slot a la “Castle.” Go ABC!
Love Potts but the concept seems too generic. A cozy novel without the “novel”.
