Outsourced star Ben Rappaport is set as the lead of another workplace comedy, TBS pilot Do It Yourself. Bill Engvall is co-starring in the multi-camera project written by Walt Becker and Rob Long and directed by James Widdoes. Do It Yourself tells the story of Nick Porter (Rappaport), a 20-something laid-off math teacher who finds himself thrust into the blue collar world when he gets a job at that most American of retail institutions: the big box home supply store. Engvall plays his co-worker Dale, an executive with 30 years of experience who was once a senior vice president at Circuit City but has been reduced to minimum wage since his company went belly-up. The two join previously cast Melora Hardin and Ryan McPartlin. Rappaport, repped by Gersh, Invictus Entertainment and attorney Rick Genow, recently made his Broadway debut in Picnic and will next be seen in feature The Brass Teapot. This marks Engvall’s return to TBS where his Bill Engvall Show ran for three seasons after debuting with 3.9 million viewers. He is with Paradigm and Parallel Entertainment.
