Terence Noonan, executive producer of Anderson Live, which is ending its two-season run, is segueing to a new Telepictures-produced daily syndicated talk show. Noonan and Meghan Schaefer Spielberg, and one of the founding producers of MSNBC, have been named executive producers of Bethenny Frankel‘s Bethenny, alongside Frankel and Ellen DeGeneres whose A Very Good Production co-produces the show. The one-hour daily talk show hosted by Frankel is set to launch nationwide this fall after a successful trial run on Fox stations last summer. Additionally, Mary Connelly, Ed Glavin and Andy Lassner, Executive Producers of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, also produced by Telepictures and A Very Good Production, will serve as Consulting Executive Producers of Bethenny, after having served as executive producers of the six-week test last year. Noonan is also the creator and executive producer of DC Cupcakes and A Slice Of Brooklyn and was a supervising producer on The Dr. Oz Show. Schaefer Spielberg most recently served as the Senior Executive Producer of MSNBC’s daytime programming.

Bethenney would be smart to steer clear of anyone associated with Anderson Cooper’s show. How they took a respected likable journalist and saddled him with a low rent hybrid of Live! With Kelly and Michael and Watch What Happens Live! is a bizarre joke. The man was poised to be this generations Phil Donahue and instead they made him the next cancellation forgettable gabfest.
Good luck to B. Love her or hate her she’s accomplished so much in so little time.
preach JJ. Bad choices.
Why not use Anderson Cooper’s associates? Her show is going to have the same fate.
I’m in completely agreement with both JJ and slag. I was at one of the first tapings of Anderson last year, and there was such a feeling of hopefulness about what his show could accomplish in daytime. Now, though, it has become a joke where I find myself counting the number of times Anderson says he’s “obsessed” with something or “addicted” to something else. I’ve considered turning it into a drinking game, but I fear I’d be an alcoholic by the time the show ends in May.
It’s really sad to see what Anderson Live has done to Cooper’s once respectable reputation.
please no more “celebrity” interviews
or
goofy cooking segments
make it real beth
need real people and there problems, do it old school like oprah in the ’90s
Like how you ask for no more “celebrity” interviews… isn’t the host a “celebrity” of sorts herself?
I’m thinking this will be bad no matter who produces.
Other than being a “personality” (one step down from a celeb), what qualifies this reality show participant to be a talk show host?
This will last only as long as its first contractual period, then its gone.
Terence Noonan is an amazing producer. He will do great job with the show. Telepictures are lucky to get him. Terence knows the medium and how to cater to the host and make it original.
Clearly you never worked for him. He’s a hothead. Will mix w ms frankel like oil and water
How Terence Noonan got an EP credit and continues to get hired with one of the worst reputations in the business, is beyond reason. He’s stabbed countless producers in the back while recycling tired formulas on-air and driving shows into the ground. If I was Meghan Schaefer Spielberg (& I’m glad I’m not because it would mean sitting next to that glory hound in meetings), I’d keep that snake in my sights. Otherwise, she’ll be looking for work within 6 months and as sole EP, he’ll oversee a show that’s tanked long before its commitment is up.
