EXCLUSIVE: Rules Of Engagement‘s Bianca Kajlich and Aly Michalka (Hellcats) have joined Undateable, NBC’s multicamera comedy pilot from Bill Lawrence and Warner Bros TV. Written by Adam Sztykiel based on the book by Ellen Rakieten & Anne Coyle, Undateable is described as a bromantic comedy about Danny (Chris D’Elia) and Justin (Brent Morin) — two very different guys who are bonded by their common inability to attract women. Kajlich, repped by UTA, The Collective and Warren Dern, plays Danny’s (D’Elia) older sister Leslie, a divorced single mom who works as a wine rep to get free booze and meet guys; a straight shooter, she tells it like it is. Michalka, repped by CAA and Principato-Young, plays Maddie, an attractive waitress in Justin’s (Morin) bar who is endlessly attracted to jerks and bad pickup lines … but could she have a sweet spot for Justin? Kajlich is the latest Rules Of Engagement star to book a pilot, joining David Spade and Patrick Warburton. As original cast members, the trio’s deals are up at the end of this season. Additionally, newer Rules cast member Adhir Kalyan also landed a pilot gig in second position. Michalka will next be seen in Grown Ups 2.

This doesn’t look for “Whitney”. Thrilled that Aly Michalka is coming back to television. Miss the heck out of “Hellcats”.
Thrilled to see her getting work, but this, a comedy on NBC? Bail, Aly, bail now and fire whomever talked you into taking the part. There’s still time to hitch your wagon to a pilot on a network people actually watch.
I dream of the day when I don’t see a character description that reads “a straight shooter who tells it like it is.”
Proud of Aly!
Sorry for the pun, but the casting of these two unfunny women makes this show unWATCHable.
Love Aly. Great news.
Yay Aly Michalka. She deserves a good role, hopefully the script writers do their job. lol
Congrats to Bianca! ROE is my families favorite show! We will watch anything she stars in !
A show about guys who can’t get laid because girls are too busy banging assholes and pick up artists. If only they’d give the nice guys a chance, they’d fall in love with their cuddliness and adorable predictability. Quite refreshing.
They should star in a pilot called “Unpronounceable”.
You never know, of course, but the premise sounds pretty lame.
Ricky Ullman will end up playing one of Aly Michalka’s many boyfriends
There are several smart and funny comedy pilot scripts this season and there are steaming clumps of shite like this one. None of the characters seem real or interesting. Heavy on the situation, woefully light on the comedy. Should be a big fat hit.
Her character is attracted to bad pickup lines? Something like “You should add another l to your name, because I’d love to have an Ally like you!
