Christian Slater will play the other lead opposite Steve Zahn in the ABC drama pilot Influence, from Awake creator Kyle Killen and 20th TV. The project is described as a provocative workplace ensemble centered on the complicated relationship between two brothers — Clark (Zahn), a bipolar genius in human psychology, and Ross (Slater), a slick ex-con — who head a unique agency designed to solve their clients’ problems using the real science of human motivation and manipulation. Ross is described as a brilliant schemer, recently out of prison after a two-year stint for fraud. Roiling with ideas, given to rationalization, high-wired, often charmingly persuasive, divorced three years ago, also an inveterate ladies’ man, Ross has come up with a business model that he believes can make him and his team millions. UTA-repped Slater was recently seen in Bullet To The Head and Fox comedy series Breaking In.

Amazing that Slater keeps coming back despite a string of flops
You know everyone wants to work, right?
Yeah, there was this guy in the 80s and 90s who had a bunch of flops. What was his name? Greg Clooney? George Clooney? Something like that. I wonder what happened to him?
I love Steve Zahn. Hopefully, this will work for both of them and take Slater off the “show killer” list. I still don’t know why the 2008 series “My Own Worst Enemy” was cancelled. The Forgotten was forgettable-LOL. I certainly don’t understand why “Breaking In” was saved twice. The second time around was slightly better than the first and it still got cancelled when it should have just stayed dead the first time.
Seriously, the networks these days are so far up their own arses. How are viewers supposed to follow shows that are poorly promoted with extended hiatuses and/or inconsistent schedules?

Im in. I love Kyle Killen and i love Chris Slater since Broken Arrow. Abc needs to picked that show
I’m pulling for Slater. Always enjoy seeing him, he just needs the right show and character. Sounds perfect so far…and with Killen at the help, should be a quality piece.
This character is the exact same thing from Breaking In. Season One was great and broke his string of flops. Season two sucked cause Megan Mulaley was so damn annoying. But Slater was always great.
Well said.
When does the influence start on ABC.
