Disney XD is ramping up its Marvel Universe programming block with two new animated series. Marvel’s Avengers Assemble featuring Marvel superheroes Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow and newcomer Falcon, will debut Sunday, July 7 on Disney XD. It will be preced
ed by a special one-hour preview on Sunday, May 26. Man of Action Studios, comprised of Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle, will executive produce. The second new series, Marvel’s Hulk And The Agents S.M.A.S.H. premieres at 11 AM Sunday, August 11 on Marvel Universe on Disney XD. Hulk, his cousin She-Hulk, A-Bomb, Red Hulk and Skaar, Marvel’s mightiest super heroes form an eccentric family living under one roof, working together to tackle threats that are too enormous for other heroes to handle. Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man Season 2 debuted in January 2013, and to date, is Disney XD’s No. 1 animated series in target demos Kids 2-11 (265,000/0.7 rating), Boys 2-11 (197,000/1.0 rating) and Boys 6-11 (138,000/1.1 rating).

Still baffles the mind that Disney would cancel “Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”. Far and away the best animated series to date involving Marvel’s properties. Knowing they wanted a series more kid friendly & in line with the current Features, it makes sense from a financial standpoint. That said to sacrifice a show that after two seasons was arguably the best series on their network? Hard to agree.
I totally agree. EMH was a great show. I guess it doesn’t matter that us old fogies and their kids like only the kids who’s parents never picked up a comic book in their life and think these super hero’s were created for the movies.
Hulk and agents of SMASH: ridiculous.
Guaranteed not to be seen by anyone over 6 years old. Rather back “My Little Pony”. At least that show knows what it is and not as pretentious as this cartoon about a Hulk “family”.
“At least that show knows what it is”
Unfortunately, yes.
Hopefully, Avengers Assemble will pick up where the often entertaining and faithful Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes left off.
Don’t really need a reboot.
The new Hulk show is supposed to be Paul Dini’s new baby.
It would be awesome if they could develop a Defenders series.

any word on when Disney XD (or Disney in general) are going to announce what is happening with Star Wars the Clone Wars? is it moving from Cartoon Network to XD or was this season finale a series finale as some feared?
You know, everytime I see the credit listing “Written by Man of Action” you gotta wonder how many animation writers does it take to write one measly little 22 minute episode, let alone change to in a lightbulb?
