As expected, Good Morning America has topped the morning show February sweeps for the first time since Bill Clinton was President. The ABC AM series, which won the November sweeps last year, beat out rival NBC’s Today in both total viewers and among the valued Adults 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen. Buoyed by the return of co-anchor Robin Roberts on February 20, GMA took the top viewership spot for the first time since February 1994 and took the top demo ranking for the first time since February 1993. On average, GMA pulled in 5.669 million viewers and 2.130 million in the 25-54 demo compared to Today’s 4.821 million viewership and 2.033 million in the demo. GMA was up 9% in viewers and 4% in the 25-54 category over last year’s sweep, moving from second spot to number one over Today. The NBC show fell 13% in total viewers and 19% in the demo from February 2012. Remaining in third place, CBS’s This Morning garnered 3.01 million in total viewers and 1.15 million in the demo.

They should have never fired Ann Currey. And idk what happened to Merideth Viera. And who the hell is Shavannah Gunphrey?!? Seriously Today, sucks to suck.
not surprised, although I think they exploited Robin enough. I have no idea why NBC didn’t hire Elizabeth or one of the other co-hosts they’ve had in place of Robin, they are so much better than Savannah Guthrie, she’s plain awful, so stiff and posed, I don’t know who thought she was better than Anne.
Totally disagree…Savannah Guthrie is a fantastic addition to the Today Show.
She is intelligent and has a great sense of humor – sharp and quick.
Glad she is part of the show!!!!!!!
Today would have fallen to second place even if they had kept Ann Curry. She was better suited to the news anchor job, and was painful as co-host. However, the way they fired her really accelerated their downfall. She deserved a much classier, respectful exit than that. I would have brought in a third anchor and then have eased Ann into her anchor-at-large role after a year or so.
Anyone sure this isn’t blowback from MSNBC? They’ve swung so far Left these past few years that now it’s not even journalism. It’s pundits pushing their narrative.
That always leaves a bitter taste. Self-righteousness.
