Lost alum Harold Perrineau is set to co-star in NBC‘s DJ Nash comedy pilot, now titled Family Guide. Written/exec produced by Nash, directed by David Schwimmer and exec produced by Jason Bateman, It centers on Henry (Eli Baker), a son who idolizes his blind father (J.K. Simmons) and is bemused by his mother Mel’s (Parker Posey) newfound adolescence and who watches his family come closer together post-divorce. Perrineau, repped by APA, plays the manager in Mel’s new apartment building who befriends Henry. Perrineau, recently seen in Zero Dark Thirty, on the most recent season of Sons Of Anarchy and on TBS’ The Wedding Band, just wrapped David Ayer’s Ten and will begin production later this year on the sequel to The Best Man.
Boston actor Jimmy Dunn rounds out the cast of CBS/Sony TV single-camera comedy pilot The McCarthys. Written by Brian Gallivan, directed by Fred Savage and executive produced by Will Gluck, The McCarthys revolves around an Irish-Catholic, sports-crazed Boston clan and the gay son (Jake Lacy) whose greatest sin is not his sexuality but his desire to spend less time with his family. Dunn plays one of the brothers, Sean, a former star athlete who now lives in an attic room off of his brother’s third floor apartment.

I know he’s worked a lot since, but this dude was an awesome Mercutio.
I suppose this could be seen as a good news-bad news type of thing. Good news
being that Harold(one of my Lost favorites) will be on a pilot airing on nbc that may or may not be picked up to series.Bad news

I don’t see why everyone’s always talking shit about NBC. They dont get as good ratings, but they give their shows more chances. That can be good, it can be bad. But I think it’s mostly a good thing.
Okay, now I’m certain that The McCarthys set out to cast only people whose names started with J. They have a Jack, Jacki, Jake, Joey, Jessica and now Jimmy.
Uh,I think a lotta people talk shit about Nbc because of their mostly horrible recent track record. Of course Nbc gives their shows more chances-what the hell else are they gonna do? When the majority of your “programming” keeps failing & getting canceled-people/tv fans/viewers/critics/or whatever are going to talk shit. That’s just something Nbc will have to deal with until they start making better choices/decisions. Nbc got themselves into this current predicament,so,I personally don’t feel sorry for them.
Mr. Perrineau is the real deal. His acting is superb, and NBC is lucky to have him. What a great cast they have assembled for this show.
This is the 6th article in the last 30 days that started with “Lost alum…”; Sawyer, Desmond, Jacob, Hugo, Sayid, and Michael. I guess that for most actors and actresses, their roles in Lost will forever be their most memorable ones. Will Vincent be next? LOL
I love Harold & wish him the best, but, what about the ladies of Lost? Too bad this pilot will be on Nbc. Doesn’t even matter if it’s good.Viewers don’t like Nbc anymore & tend not to give their programs a try…
McCarthys has no chance for success.
Good for Harold…but the show is on NBC….not body watches that network anymore! meh!
