The second two-hour installment of History‘s 10-part miniseries The Bible on Sunday drew 10.8 million total viewers, 3.2 adults 18-49 and 3.8 million adults 25-54. That was down 18% in total viewers from the mini’s blockbuster opener the previous Sunday but still a massive turnout for a cable telecast. In fact, The Bible was the top program in all of television from 8-10 PM on Sunday among total viewers and 25-54, beating cable and broadcast competition. The Bible‘s lead-out, the second episode of new History series Vikings (4.6 million, 1.7 million adults 18-49, 1.9 million adults 25-54) also was down from its big premiere — off by 26% in total viewers. It still was the most watched cable series in the 10 PM hour and TV’s No. 1 show among men 25-54.

I felt ep 2 of Vikings was a lot stronger than ep one. With all the promoting they did during ep one and two to watch the next ep online before it airs could be why it dropped as well.
Indeed. I watched episode 2 of Vikings on-line, so of course I didn’t bother watching it on TV. Who knows how many people did exactly what I did.
Why on earth won’t cable networks take note of what’s happening: More people want to watch scripted television than the hillbilly nonsense reality shows that populate cable these days.
Fucking love vikings!! So good.
I don’t have cable though… so I have to watch online/torrent.
did i read the ratings wrong, or wasn’t the walking dead (11.46 million total viewers) number one on sunday? maybe not in the 25-54, but definitely in total viewers.
unless i’m wrong, this is wrong, but i’ve been known to be wrong.
wrong.
I watched ep 2 last week thanks to Directv, but still recorded the episode and watched it again. I just finished watching episode 3 of Vikings this morning.
ME TOOO I may watch episode 3 online before the weekend love episode 2 of Vikings now get good since they sack certain Religious building in Ireland LOL!
Actually they sacked the monastery on the island on Lindisfarne which is off the east coast of where England becomes Scotland. Ireland would have been quite a trek.
I think Television is dead like the dinosaurs. Anyone using it for ratings- to judge if shows are good or not based on viewers watching is failing to understand the whole tech revolution. In my life time – (im 35) i predict the television will cease to be useful, (and like i do now), refer to the computer as the “TV”. The internet will replace current tv standards. more shows will be available on line the day after they air for free(like now, but greater number) or it will replace mainstream shows available on internet+old TV networks airing at the same time. So much more content is possible if aired on the internet live(so to speak). You wouldn’t have to cancel shows so much if you could directly target specific groups of people. (Shows like firefly would have not been cancelled)
Seriously the internet is the way information is going. It’s only the old WASPS* controlling the networks that don’t have a clue, and are struggling to slow this advancement so they can make a huge profit while they still can. (*isn’t totally true anymore but you get the idea)
I love vikings and much sa
