Hope DavisHope Davis (In Treatment) has been tapped for CBS‘ drama pilot The Ordained, executive produced by Frank Marshall. Directed by RJ Cutler from a script by Lisa Takeuchi Cullen, Ordained centers on Tom Reilly (Charlie Cox), the son of a Kennedy-esque family who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer at a top New York firm to prevent his politician sister Packy (Davis) from being assassinated. Packy is a first-term mayor of New York City who’s just announced her bid for re-election — big of heart, loud of mouth, spine of iron. Davis recently recurred on HBO’s The Newsroom. 

Tone BellWhitney co-star Tone Bell has been cast in Fox’s single-camera comedy pilot To My Future Assistant. Written by Sherry Bilsing-Graham & Ellen Kreamer and directed by Peyton Reed, Assistant revolves around the assistants at a big New York law firm who band together as a family to help each other cope with the obnoxious overbearing bosses who test their sanity on a daily basis. Bell, repped by Black Box Management and Innovative, plays the regular role of Davis, a confident, Harvard-educated attorney who has just joined the firm. For Bell, the casting is in second position to NBC’s Whitney, whose fate has not been determined, and he is billed as a guest star on the Fox pilot with a series option.
