Marina Zenovich found more fodder for her docu lens when the subject of her 2008 film Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired landed in hot water with Swiss authorities in September 2009. Her feature-length follow-up Roman Polanski: Odd Man Out covers the ensuing media circus surrounding Roman Polanski‘s 10-month house arrest. The pic premiered at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival and will be available On Demand on March 26. Here’s the trailer:

Making a career out of documentaries on a pedophile…interesting choice.
…or, you could say pursuing an interest in documenting a great director’s life. “Making a career” – what a dumb comment. I’m sure you’re a master filmmaker yourself.
House arrest. “Odd Man In” would have been a better title.
When a priest is caught in a criminal act against a child we don’t say, “well, he IS a heck of a priest!”. We say, ” That crime must not go unpunished and that man will be a pariah!” Yet for some reason Hollywood seeks to excuse rape and sodomy against a little girl because the perp is a master at his craft.
Not just Hollywood, David, the entire European Arthouse crowd cheerleads him as well, throwing in a huge dollop of anti-Americanism as well. Personally, I don’t see why a Predator drone or three can’t be deployed.
