I don’t know about anyone else, but, the last thing I wanna watch during the warmer months is ANYTHING that includes the word baking in the title. That would just serve to remind me how hot, humid, sticky, hazy,& BAKING the weather is outside. There are many Summer activities, but, baking is DEFINITELY NOT one of them!
As opposed to Hell’s Kitchen?
ugh. and blargh. broadcast networks should just cede the summer to the cable networks and air reruns instead.
when will cbs go back to doing cool reality shows again? the only good ones are like ancient there – and everything since has sucked big time. who gives a F*** about baking. is there no imagination left in the world any more?
Foxworthy? Hah! I knew Hollywood would fwck this up. They’ve taken a Brit series I love so much I even get it off the torrents (I’ve looked: no way to buy it in the US) and made it completely unwatchable. Morons.
Apart from agreeing with you 100%, I’m sad that Mary Berry, the real heart of the show, was jettisoned. One of the principal attractions of GBB was how it was DIFFERENT. Contestants didn’t trash talk each other. If they lost, they left gracefully, with hugs from their competitors. People were decent to each other. And the content of each show was interesting.
Jeff Foxworthy? It’s over. IDIOTS!
Foxworthy must really knead the dough!
*crickets*
It seems like the networks are running out of ideas on their own and having to borrow concepts from overseas. When will the madness with these reality shows stop?!
Is there only 4 working hosts in this town anymore? If you just are going to keep putting the same ol’ host who has 3 other shows on the air at once on ANOTHER show, why watch? Whats so unique? Remember when FOX booked that barely known Ryan Seacrest? Hes now the staple and face of American Idol. Too bad all the other networks seem to scared to book (gasp!) an unknown host.
Maybe you disagree, but I am a big fan of the UK version and their hosts are a) well known comedians in the UK and b) they know zilch about baking. The American version appears to be emulating that (even though it seems there is only one host but maybe because they havent hired or announced the other) and since Jeff is not a dirty comic, it sort of makes sense.
Having Foxworthy as the host has ruined the show before it even gets started. What a disappointment. It could have been such a good show…and a judge who’s specialty is Mexican Food? WTF???? Could they really have screwed this up that bad?
