EXCLUSIVE: Former Blue Bloods co-star Jennifer Esposito is eying her own show, this time on the unscripted side. I’ve learned that the actress is filming a pilot for E! that she also executive produces. The untitled project is a spinoff from the cable network’s upcoming docu-reality series Playing With Fire, which premieres Sunday. Esposito is among those featured on the show, which follows the personal lives and careers of tastemakers and chefs inside New York’s culinary scene. Esposito’s storyline focuses on the actress, who was diagnosed with Celiac disease five years ago, opening her New York gluten-free bakery, Jennifer’s Way. With the bakery now up and running, the pilot will chronicle Esposito’s duties running the place while juggling the other aspects of her life. Atlas Media Corp, the company behind Playing With Fire, also produces the Esposito pilot. The E! project, packaged by Buchwald Fortitude, marks the first major TV gig for Esposito following her much-publicized exit from CBS/CBS TV Studios’ Blue Bloods after the studio put the actress on an indefinite medical leave due to her struggles with Celiac.

Hmmm… Too sick to continue acting on “Blue Bloods” but able to have a reality TV crew follow her around 24/7?
Was the username “CBS Lawyer” already taken? At least show *some* transparency.
Exactly.
But then everyone knew she was lying. Too sick to act but not sick enough to star in a reality show about setting up and running a busy business? Please!
Hey loser, were you paying her paycheck! What’s it to you that she is trying to make a living, sounds like a jealous CBS honcho.
Hmmm… You might want to read any of the 20 articles written about the situation. She wanted to work.
No, she wanted her role scaled back and less hours on set.
The wacky happenins at a Gluten Free Bakery! Count me………OUT! Snooze…..
This has got to be the worst premise for a television show I’ve ever heard.
I would watch!
I think it would be a great show!! Always have been a fan!! Hope it works out!!!
get your facts straight!!!!
Congrats Jennifer! You deserve only the best! Anyone who wants to use the Blue Bloods situation as an excuse, check your facts because she wanted to work! She is allowed to live her life and by nature a reality show is following someone living their daily life, so the reality show has nothing to do with Blue Bloods (which has been HORRIBLE since her departure) situation. People need to see what an extraordinary 20 year career this woman has had and has now chosen to become an activist and ambassador to a community with whom she shares their struggle. This show would far surpass in entertainment and intelligence than most if not all other reality shows around. TEAM JENNIFER!!!
Hope this happens! Love her! and it could potentially help people.
She’s crazy. I have “Celiacs” too. If you take care of yourself and your dietary needs, there is nothing to worry about. Doesn’t affect my job.
Well lucky you…….this disease has stopped me from attending work and many, many functions. Remember cancer IS an effect of this disease. Bottom line don’t be so pompous it will eventually get you when your not expecting it!
Agree Jennifer wanted to work! Best of luck & better health. I miss Jackie & Danny team. TeamJen!
Funny how the posts that are educational and support Jennifer and her endeavors are removed from this posting throughout the day. You have to walk in her shoes to know the REAL story!
There are over 3 million people in the U.S. with Celiac Disease and millions more family member and loved ones who are are touched by this problem. There is a desperate need for awareness of Celiac Disease (not just the gluten free diet) in the media. And, awareness that Celiac Disease manifests in deifferent people in different ways…those of us who are undiagnosed for decades have a much more severe symptomatology and often have additional autoimmune symptoms which do not improve even when on the gluten free diet.
Has there ever been a Celiac on any reality show over the last decade? It is definitely time for it to happen and Jennifer Esposito will do a wonderful job of representing us and helping to tell the true story of what it means to have to be 100 percent gluten free all of the time. Good luck Jennifer!
If Jennifer is really the brains and brawn behind her new gluten-free bakery, then I cannot imagine she works less than 12 hours a day… on her feet in a busy kitchen environment. She was too sick to act but not too sick to open her bakery AND be followed around a TV camera crew?? Something is just fishy here.
There are different degrees of this disease and Jennifer has the worst possible kind. I watch a close friend of mine go through this and it is unbelievable how much it can affect your life.
Insane in the fan brain.
I have CELIACS. Lots of times I feel like I have the flu if I have had gluten. I admire Jennifer for telling the story of Soo many Celiacs. Congrats to the previous celiac who feels so good. And shame on her for hating Jennifer who is more sick than her.
Folks…everyone has different levels of celiac disease. Jennifer’s is extreme, as is mine. If you can work 15 hour days and have no symptoms, god bless you. But don’t sit in judgement of other people.
I have all of the shows recorded, and can’t wait to watch! I have Celiacs, and even though I am ridiculously safe with all of the food I eat, I still struggle with the same issues that Jennifer does. I plan to take a trip to NYC soon…mainly to try out her bakery:)
