Kelly Preston is set as the lead in ABC’s comedy pilot Keep Kalm And Karey On, from writer/executive producer Andrea Abbate, 20th Century Fox TV and 21 Laps/Adelstein. The project centers on Karey (Preston), the clean-nosed black sheep in a family of petty thieves, drug addicts, and narcissists. When her brother is sent to prison, she decides to raise his kids along with her adopted black son and give them the normal lives they deserve. Preston joins previously cast Majandra Delfino and Jane Seymour, who is only 11 years older than Preston but plays her mom. This is a rare series gig for CAA-repped Preston who has focused on features. She previously did an arc on Medium.

Hell, as young and vibrantly beautiful as Jane Seymour remains, she could play Preston’s daughter!
Unless she needs the money, Seymour should leave the show. That is just insane for her to play Preston’s mom. Seymour and Preston look almost the same age! Embarrassing decision for all involved.
Love Kelly, so I’d be curious about the show. Agree about the horrible title. Maybe shortening to “Karey On” would be a better alternative.
I hate when they have someone who could be lead’s sister as lead’s mother. Oh, well. That’s Hollywood for ya.
