EXCLUSIVE: Another very interesting sign from ICM by Jeff Berg‘s Resolution Agency. Leigh Brillstein gave her
notice about 15 minutes ago after 25 years working for Berg and then recently Chris Silbermann. She ran ICM’s TV talent department twice and before that was at CAA, first as an assistant in the lit department and later as a talent agent, until 1980. She is, of course, the daughter of the late and legendary Hollywood manager and producer Bernie Brillstein. UPDATE: “Leigh has a great eye for performers and has successfully overseen the careers of numerous award-winning actors while also serving as a mentor for a generation of younger agency colleagues,” Berg said in a statement. ”With the expansion of cable channels and the new digital platforms in addition to broadcast, Leigh’s expertise will become invaluable in helping assure that our clients are fully represented in all aspects of television.”

Hear, hear, nice move. Meanwhile, who is coming in for New Media? Transmedia, also, although the term should be MP : Multi Platform, reps and strength in the inevitable next mobile infrastructure land grab deals?
What?
Wonder if Berg will take kindly to LB’s 4 hour lunches, 3:30pm exits and 7 weeks of vacation time.
whatever it takes to get the job done.
Yea, he’s in for a real shocker seeing as the two of them have never actually worked together before. Oh, wait, what?!?!
icm is done.
No, it isn’t. It’s what Silberman wanted it to be from the beginning – a TV agency.
How did 1600 penn do?
Remind me what Leigh does again? Oh yea, that’s right TV TALENT.
thats for sure
Giving notice to Chris Silbermann is one of life’s sublime pleasures. I still remember the relief and joy I felt when I canned him as my agent back in the day.
I have shared clients with Leigh and she’s an incredible agent and works hard for her clients. Congrats Leigh!!!
Not a huge loss for ICM. Has Leigh been able to do anything for ICM talent over the past 5 or 6 years? Lots of talent has left, but it doesn’t seem Leigh has been able to sign or KEEP the talent it takes to run with the other agencies. Looks like ICM has a great chance to get some new blood in that seat. Hope they can keep it going. This is a good thing for ICM Partners.
Yes, but how many of those client exits have been because the clients’ MP agent exited and took them? In all likelihood there was nothing LB (or anyone) could have done to keep clients whose MP agents left and wanted to take them. Most of Chris Hart’s clients made their money and names in TV but still went with him instead of staying because of how good ICM’s TV dept. had been to them.
Got to love the comments from ICM agents… They are sooo smart! Are you crazy? Leigh Brillstein’s departure is a massive blow to ICM. You must be drinking more than the Kool-Aid if you think its not. Idiot.
David:
Seriously? You’re like the violinist on the deck of the Titanic trying hard to make it all feel okay. Email us all back when your feet are touching the freezing water.
Comment of the day!
Leigh Is an incredible leader. You have NO idea what you are talking about nor do you know the power of LB!
One of the best in the biz. Showbiz royalty. Congrats Leigh. Resolution is on FIRE.
agreed
Love her. Congrats to all!
Would love to know which clients she is taking with her. This is truly what matters, as the clients will be the ones to bring in the money.
All of her clients adore her. Most likely all will go. Big loss for ICM “P.”
Leigh is Hollywood royalty and a fabulous woman! This collapses ICM’s TV Talent Department. Chris Silberman and Rick LEvy are the worst leaders in the history of that once great agency. Rick is like an alien from another planet. Not human.
Reality – shit happens! Lee is great. Silberman is great.
It is impressive that Resolution has been able to siphon off a number of good agents from CAA and ICM among others. But then they have private equity financing so they have the wherewithal to make good money offers. The next, and more important stage, is to see if they can get and keep their clients working. That is the acid test.
Congrats Leigh! Yay Resolution!
I am a manager who shares clients w Leigh. She is the best of the best, part of a dying breed of agents with PERSONALITY, A FUCKING SENSE OF HUMOR and the ability to make us all laugh. She’s the best and Resolution is lucky to have her.
Loved you in COOL RUNNINGS
CAA is the death star. ICM is the dead star.
can we start an anti silbermann website?
Would crash the server.
He should resign and retire. Same with Lipstone.
Finally someone who knows what they are talking about. The agencies are way behind in the Platform business… Even UTA who claims to be tech savy is only focused on up front consulting fees.
Resolution has more agents than clients.
Yeah, it’s almost like they’re a new agency just getting going by making key hires.
ICM Agent much?
THOM MOUNT DANGER
anyone who speaks poorly of other agents in the business is disgusting and pathetic.
I’m so proud of you Leigh. It’s been a long road since doing those donuts on the grass at ULV.
Ignore the haters. As soon as they get an offer to leave they’ll change their tune.
