Luke Bracey is the latest Australian newcomer to score a major role this pilot season. In his first U.S. gig, Bracey (Home And Away), who was pursued by multiple pilots, is set for the young male lead opposite Odette Annable in ABC‘s Romeo & Juliet-esque pilot Westside (formerly Venice), about the haves and the have-nots of California’s most seductive city, Venice. It focuses on two rival families, the Nances and the Carvers, and a forbidden and dangerous romance emerging between them as the families battle for control of Venice. Bracey will play the handsome and sexy Chris Carver. Recently released from a six-year prison term for dealing marijuana, Chris hopes to move to Costa Rica and start his life over — but he finds himself quickly sucked back into the drama of the Carver family… and a romance with the daughter of his family’s chief rival, Sophie Nance (Annable).
Mimi Kennedy is set to co-star in Two Wrongs, Fox’s comedy pilot from writer Michelle Morgan, Chernin Entertainment and 20th TV. The relationship comedy centers on Zach (Jake Hoffman) and Jenny (Kelli Garner), a couple whose friends and family don’t think they are right for each other. Kennedy, managed by Wagner Talent and Justice & Ponder, plays Elaine, Zach’s elegant Jewish mother, with eyes that could burn a hole into your head.

Luca Brazi?
I see white people (castings)…, I guess they can’t find any good African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, etc…….
I see racists who immediately see and judge people on the color of their skin.
I agree what do u expect from Disney & ABC!! African Ameicans, Hispanics, & Asians don’t watch TV in the eyes of executives @ these studios. What there’s not enough good looking Caucasian American actors? That they have to cast an Aussie pleasssssse!! Canadians n Aussies can work here but we can’t work there. Bunch a bs!!!
With Jennifer Beals cast as the Carver matriarch, they had the chance to cast men of color as her sons. It’s 2013, folks, and an interracial romance is still scary to ABC.
ABC has Scandal! Of course they aren’t scared of anything.
It’s a catch-22. If there was interracial romance, you would have accused them of forcing one in and being unrealistic.
So far the casting for Westside doesn’t sound promising.
I like Vencie, but “seductive” it is not and that is not where you’ll find the “haves” in L.A..
Luke Bracey is going to be great:)
Dreadful casting this pilot will fail
If Leighton Meester could have been cast as “Sophie,” the chemistry between Luke Bracey and her would have been awesome:)
