Neal Bledsoe has booked a lead role opposite Blair Underwood in NBC’s drama pilot Ironside. The reboot of the 1967 series, written by Mike Caleo and directed by peter Horton, centers on Robert T. Ironside (Underwood), a tough, sexy and acerbic police detective relegated to a wheelchair after a shooting who is hardly limited by his disability as he pushes and prods his hand-picked team to solve the most difficult cases. Bledsoe, repped by Brillstein and Abrams Artists, will play the wealthy and highly educated Teddy who became a cop following a family tragedy.
Teen actors Eli Baker and Ava Deluca-Verley are set to star opposite J.K. Simmons and Parker Posey in NBC‘s DJ Nashcomedy pilot, about Henry (Baker), a son who idolizes his blind father (Simmons) and is bemused by his mother’s (Posey) newfound adolescence and who watches his family come closer together post-divorce. Deluca-Verley, repped by CESD and Intellectual Artists Management, will play Henry’s sister. Baker is with CESD.

DJ’s show sounds pretty good – a nice change of pace from most pilots this season. Plus he’s got a great head-o-lettuce. Win, win.
Neal is great
“…a tough, sexy and acerbic police detective relegated to a wheelchair after a shooting…”
Tough and acerbic certainly, but “Ironside” and “sexy” are not two words that I usually put together.
I look forward to the inevitable dubstep version of the original opening credits theme.
They must be running out of adult diapers at NBC because all the executive must be soiling themselves over this season and these pilots.
