Has there ever been a case where a movie’s release date is pushed up and the movie’s no good? Particularly in the summer months?
Usually movie’s that stink are pushed back as the studio’s try out different marketing formulas, etc.
Seems like they went aggressively after Uni’s movies (The Purge and RIPD) in response to Uni moving 2 Guns onto Red 2′s date.
Not true. Many movies had huge hits were released after pushing ahead from initial schedule. “Now you see me” judging from the trailer, offers greats cast, intriguing plot, full of suspense and thrill that you don’t need to get excited by watching repetition of superman, sequels of iron man or batman, neither you need to find fun where no bloodshed, car flipping on highway and gun violence are jamming the screen.
Generally release dates are pushed up after a movie tests well and the studio hopes to capitalize. This could mean Lionsgate/Summit have high expectations for both flicks.
Word in Lionsgate is both have tested through the roof.
Word. Its stock is also going through the roof.
