EXCLUSIVE: Private Practice‘s Paul Adelstein is set to star opposite Debra Messing in CBS‘ untitled Julie Rottenberg/Elisa Zuritsky pilot (formerly Mother’s Day). The untitled comedy, based on an Israeli format, stars Messing as 40-year-old Gabby (formerly Shira) who, in order to successfully navigate through the demanding life of being a mother of three, a lover, a friend and a career woman, constantly lies her way out of and into situations — little lies, big lies, white and at times not-so-white lies. Adelstein, repped by Abrams and Principal Entertainment LA, will play Gabby’s husband Bryan, a good-natured Google employee who loves his wife and family, but doesn’t quite get how much of a burden his wife is carrying. He will next be seen in Return To Zero. Adelstein joins fellow Private Practice alums KaDee Strickland and Taye Diggs who also booked pilots. Additionally, Kate Walsh is in talks for an off-cycle NBC comedy pilot.
