Pedro Pascal (The Good Wife), Ally McBeal alum James LeGros and Chin Han (The Dark Knight) have been cast in NBC‘s Carlton Cuse-produced pilot The Sixth Gun. Written by Ryan Condal based on the comic, directed by Jeffrey Reiner and produced by Uni TV, the supernatural Western follows the story of six mythical guns, each with its own other-worldly powers. When the Sixth Gun, the most powerful and dangerous of the group, resurfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, a farmer’s daughter named Becky Montcrief (Laura Ramsey), dark forces reawaken. Pascal will play Special Agent Ortega, the younger of the two Pinkerton detectives who follows Mercer’s (Aldis Hodge) lead. LeGros will play Bill John O’Henry, a gunslinger who is a fervently loyal companion and sidekick to Drake Sinclair. Chin Han plays Chow, a brilliant Machiavellian schemer. Pascal, repped by Innovative and Authentic Management, is recurring on ABC’s Red Widow and USA’s Graceland. He previously worked with Reiner on the NBC Wonder Woman pilot. LeGros, repped by IFA, recently recurred on HBO’s Girls. Chin Han, repped by the Van Johnson Co., has been recurring on CW’s Arrow.

Worst pilot ever. Period. Take the money and run. Never get picked up
It sounds a lot closer to being the best pilot ever than the worst. If NBC actually cares about trying to attract viewers to their downtrodden network, they will pick it up.
It has zombies in it (confederate soldier zombies from what I understand).
It’s a guarantee win.
So, shut up.

You seem like you’d be a very generous lover, Dan.
Filming begins in 2 weeks and lasts until early April in Santa Fe, Galisteo, Las Cienega, Abiquiu, New Mexico and the surrounding areas.
The production will employ at least 100 New Mexico crewmembers, 20 New Mexico actors and over 400 New Mexico background talent.
Sounds like Dan’s script didn’t get picked up!
Think how u would feel if you just got a pilot picked up or cast in one and someone wrote what you said about it. Just think.
I’m quite sure if you just got cast in a pilot or just wrote a pilot that got picked up you would care precious little what anyone said. And if in case you did; then you’re too much of a little hot house flower and this devil’s business is not any place for the likes of you.
I’m looking forward to seeing this. Do yourself a favor and pick up the comic this is based on, it’s bloody brilliant stuff!
Lets just say I’m very close with one of the co-creators of the comic. There are no “hot house flowers” on this creative team. (Love that term btw, totally stealing it) While they would of course love for everyone to be as excited about this project as they are, realistically they know that won’t happen. So thank you to all of you who have offered your kind words of support and encouragement. They mean so much. To those of you who have scoffed at the pilot. Well, you may be right, but, ya know what, these are guys who are living their dream, writing, creating comic books for a living. They get up every morning and get to do what they love. So if the pilot gets picked up, that’s a wonderful bonus, if it doesn’t. They’ll keep doing what they love. So all in all, doesn’t sound like a bad gig if you ask me.
Again, thank you to all of you for your kind words and support.
We work in a business with a lot of fragile egos and personalities. I realize this is a site for snarking and such, but no reason to be so mean to someone else’s dream.
“To be so mean to someone else’s dream.” Seriously? Never said one mean thing. Pinterest might be a nice site for you.
And you seem to have a decidedly biased interpretation of “mean.” I would say it was ‘mean” for a director to use grace and favor to cast a show when other far more established actors so perfect for a role, with luminous resumes and gilded reputations and a fucking awesome screen test to prove the hype, are now jobless and can lose their homes and their capacity to take care of their families. That seems to smack with a crueler sting to me. And I would call that, “mean.”
I watched this situation play out in front of me and can tell you all that just such an actor got so buggared in this process and while I voiced my “The Emperor has no clothes” opinion, I was overruled by the bigger fish in our pond. But three of us just sat there like sinking stones with a look on our faces like, “Is this really happening?”
But take heart, we actually agree, my friend. We just choose to shine the light of our sympathies on different subjects. But our common denominating theme is that “mean sucks.” Joo got that right.
Missed the news on Aldis Hodge getting the lead – delighted for him.
