EXCLUSIVE: Resolution has signed Stephen Dorff. The actor recently starred in Alan & Gabe Polsky’s Motel Life opposite Emile Hirsch, which premiered at this year’s Rome Film Festival and won the Audience Award for Best Film. Dorff also stars in David Jacobson’s Tomorrow You’re Gone and Eran Riklis’ Zaytoun, which premiered in Toronto, the Ariel Vromen-directed Iceman, and Roman Coppola’s A Glimpse Inside The Mind of Charles Swan III with Charlie Sheen and Bill Murray. Dorff moved from Gersh to return to his longtime agent David Unger, who signed him along with Steve Alexander at Resolution. He continues to be managed by Untitled Entertainment.

In your face, CAA!
“WE GOT DORFF!!”
stephen dorff, so hot right now. stephen dorff
Damn. Resolution is on fire. Will they be able to commission the electronic cigarette ads?
Whoa. Resolution is going to absolutely own the bargain-bin DVD market at Ralphs and Vons.
While it feels like Dorff never turns down a script, that doesn’t mean he’s not incredibly talented. “Somewhere” wasn’t my favorite movie of all time, but Dorff’s pretty amazing in the thing.
To be fair, he was really good in an indie thriller called “Brake” too.
Exactly. Word for word.
Agreed. He’s not A-list and most of his stuff goes direct to DVD but he’s very under-rated, works nonstop and will continue to bring in commissions long after the flavors of the month come and go. He just needs more quality scripts like Brake.
He’s a solid actor and reall enjoyed him in “Somewhere”.
I love Steve but he’s pretty much a has-been. Let’s see if Resolution can turn him around. I think not.
Better to be a has-been than a never-was.
And? We have Jason Mamoa.
The guy works all the time. At the end of the day, he’ll bring in consistent commissions. Taste / the caliber of projects can be debated, but not the volume.
Nothing on these comment boards is better than watching agencies trash each other. Some of the best entertainment around!
Thanks mom.
Mock if you wish, but the back-end from the “Dorff on Golf” videos is still a cash cow.
He’s a solid actor and has certainly got charisma. One right role and he’s back…talent always rises. As far as Resolution, I feel they are only warming up…they’ve got some smart people there and something to prove.
Anyone who works with this guy knows that he is hateful. No wonder he has no movie career. The guy needs to do what everyone else does when his career is stagnant, do a network show.
I don’t think I have ever seen Stephen Dorff act. He just embodies characters and tells the story. He is the most under rated actor. I don’t get why some these guys get so many accolades and this guy is just under the radar so much.
