Desperate Housewives‘ Ricardo Chavira is set as a lead opposite Mike O’Malley and Mary McCormack in Welcome To The Family, NBC‘s single-camera comedy from Mike Sikowitz and Sony TV. It chronicles how cultures collide when a white family and a Latino family are bonded together by their children who fall in love followed quickly by an unplanned pregnancy. Chavira, repped by Innovative and Gordon Gilbertson, will play the divorced Latino father of the boy who got O’Malley and McCormack’s daughter pregnant – an ex-convict who has turned his life around.
Ziah Colon (Footloose) has booked a co-starring role opposite Patrick Warburton in CBS/Sony TV’s comedy pilot Jacked Up. Written by Greg Malins and directed by Fred Savage, it centers on Jack (Warburton) a beloved, recently retired baseball player who finds that adjusting to retirement isn’t as easy as he thought it’d be. Colon, repped by Bold Management and Chad Christopher, will play Myra, Jack’s recently hired housekeeper. Having lived life on the road for 20 years, Jack doesn’t know how to lead a normal life, so he often asks for Myra’s insight and advice.TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

OK. Why does the Latino father have to be the ex-convict? This reminds me of the 80s and 90s when most black film stars had to play a thief or a con.
That doesn’t mean those characters can’t be hysterical. Just look at Jason Mantzoukas on The League. Best recurring character on TV.
This show will get cancelled because it’s racist and stupid. NBC is in last place behind Univision. Maybe one day they’ll get a clue…
Ricardo’s a great guy — good for him!
Mike O’malley —Ricardo Chavira…Great casting NBC.
I read the pilot…these guys will be funny a Sh@# opposite each other..
Jeff,
Yup! Perfect!!!
Excellent! We’ve been waiting to see more work from Ziah! She’s perfect for a reoccurring role!
CONGRATS DON RICARDO U PICKED THE BEST ZIAH IS A GREAT ACTOR I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR A LATIN SERIES GB IT’S GOING 2 B BIG
Sounds great, I’m ready for a new comedy. Ziah was great in footloose, she’ll be perfect for this new series. When will it air?
She will be fantastic. Score!
It couldn’t be the white Dad who was the ex-con? I thought that the days of Latinos playing ex-convicts and maids were over. Guess we’ve still got a long way to go.
Great choice on Ziah, she’ll make the show shine bright. I expect it to be a year after year hit!
Congrats Ricardo! Can’t wait to see it.
why do we make a mole out of a Moutainhill even if blacks or Latinos do Ex-convicts or maids in movie does that depict their lives it simply shows they’re very good in that role pls viewersdn’t cause confusion let’s leave it the way it is blacks and Latinos ve acted so many good roles in movies at least Taraji P Henson played a good role in Person of interest not 2 talk of many other roles
