So bad.
Huge wasted opportunity. They went the easy route instead of mocking the fact that it’s been a revolving door for token black characters since season 1. I was expecting him to get eaten, and then replaced with a completely different person without the gang even noticing, but instead they went for the cheap socially awkward business, and focuses way too much on Carl because hey gun violence and kids.
Jesus, SNL… just call it a day and schedule back to back TV Funhouse skits already.
I am not a writer, I don’t work in the business, I just watch television and movies. I didn’t find this funny at all. I mean, I could see what they were trying to do, I just didn’t laugh, giggle, chuckle or chortle at all during this. Perhaps I am overlooking some nuance or subtle element of the skit that I am not sophisticated enough to comprehend. Could some of you explain what I missed?
You’re not missing anything. It just wasn’t funny. At all.
SNL should change its name to The Walking Dead.
Good show! Actually watched as it was on…
Nice when they hire an actual funny guy to host…
The Spin Doctors-looking rapper sucked though. Better music please.
Guilty white liberals who would rather die than appear racist. A black man who is more than happy to pull out the race card at the first opportunity. The best (and most cringe-worthy) humor is based in reality. This skit reflected reality.
It was a truly unfunny skit but it seems you would like to politicize this more than it is….that is what is SAD. You’re more entrenched into the race crap then the SNL writers…..SMH
apparently your personal issues surrounding race have clouded your ability to be objective. this was not funny at all.
And if any of those characters were as you say, yeah maybe it would be funny. They aren’t however, which IS funny if you point that out. Wasted opportunity.
NBC never stops with the race hustling. And they wonder why they’re in last place.
I would love to see Kevin Hart on SNL for one season!
They need to do more drugs!
you nailed it
There’s so much to parody about this show, and this was not one of those things. Really unfunny skit.
They no longer know what’s funny and Lorne Michaels has to be fired he has been there way too long. Get rid of Lorne and the show might be fun to watch again. He should have been put out to pasture 10 years ago.
Wish an African American could host just once without SNL writing a skit involving race / racism. Didn’t we just just see this when Jamie Foxx hosted earlier this season?
The skit needed more cowbell.
Dear God, would someone put these talentless zombie hacks down and out of their/our misery?
They’ve been bitten by the unfunny dead.
I’ve seen better writing and performing in High School talent shows…
SNL always has its detractors, and it’s usually made up of a specific generation for whom SNL is no longer relevant nor funny, and whom SNL is not surprised to lose. Happened in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000′s, and so on, people claiming that Saturday Night is Dead. For every older generation lost, a newer generation is tuning in.
I’m 22, grandpa. Key demo here. The show is trash.
