TNT has ordered six episodes of Life Flight (working title), a docu-drama that follows air-ambulance teams as they race to save lives. The series, slated to launch in early 2014, goes behind the scenes with the teams from Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where the Life Flight service was born, and centers on the split-second decisions teams have to make while trying to perform life-saving procedures both on the ground and hundreds of feet in the air. The series also will focus on the hospital’s emergency room, where doctors, nurses and trauma surgeons do everything they can to save each patient brought in. Fox Television Studios and Boardwalk Entertainment Group produce Life Flight, with Gary A. Randall (Saving Grace, The Glades), Timothy Scott Bogart and Brad Bogart executive producers.

TNT’s ratings are taking a hit right now! Their going out on a limb with another reality series! They need to concentrate on bringing current show ratings up, not new shows!!
Hasn’t this been done before many times? What will be different this time?
I don’t think so. I have never seen a show that followed Life Flight at all actually or Air-Ambulance. I think this puts it on a whole new level…
Not if the “new shows” are connected to the “old shows.” Freaking scary these ratings issues.
Huh? TNT ratings are pretty much steady from last yeer.. Actually up a tad in the 25-34 demo (that is their sweet spot). In fact they are the only cable net NOT down. Might want to actually check your facts before you post. Show sounds like it will be cool. Gary Randall always a pro.
TNT has another winner
I think this show will be hit. Helicopter EMS is either the most dangerous, or second most dangerous occupation today – depending on your reference. Crews put themselves in harms way in order to help others and make a paycheck.
They should have picked star flight in Austin. They do very cool rescue and have one of the top programs in the country
Please do your research on the Texas Medical Center in Houston and the Life Flight (which is the largest in the country). They went to Houston because the program here is considered the best and the size of area they cover…
I cannot wait to see it as it will depict the true stories of all of our first responders! It will show the personal and profressional sacrifices given. ~ And, most of these people are our personal friends. WAY TO GO LIFEFLIGHT! Wishing all of you many years of success!!!
I saw the trailer clip for this series just the other day as I work at Memorial Hermann TMC and they had a viewing. Even working in the medical field, seeing this extremely well put together clip brought tears to my eyes and made the hair on my neck raise. I will definitely be watching.
Actually, Memorial Hermann Lifeflight is one of the most clinically advanced flight programs in the nation when it comes to innovative medicine, studies(trauma/medical) and advanced prehospital care. Although they do not do urban rescue, they have some of the most state of the art resources, gadgets and advanced prehospital treatment protocols of any flight service in the U.S.
I’m a former ER (and FP) doc. Necessarily edited, this is going to be a big draw!
Go Lifeflight and go Memorial Hermann, love working for a great hospital!
