Wow. Talk about a cliched plot.
Yes, but presumably Amy Pascal would approve of this movie because although the characters beat the hell out of each other and murder each other, they do not impose gender stereotypes on each other, so there’s that.
Well this movie like several Statham movies probably WILL impose stereotypes just like Statham’s Crank 1+2 did. You think it’s DRAMAS that are perpetuating negative stereotypical images? It’s always action/comedy films that also parade around violence and sex. Libs/Cons sometimes fight a common enemy.
I agree that it’s mostly action films and romcoms that have stereotypes instead of characters in them. I can’t think of a single film in these two genres that doesn’t have stereotypes.
Opening U.S. weekend: 6 million
And? They don’t make these to set the US domestic box office on fire. They make them because they know more or less what they’ll get in return when the dust settles from all the foreign and ancillary markets. They don’t keep making Jason Statham movies because they lose money….
Don’t think I’d name my tough-guy Jason Statham thriller “Hummingbird.”
I don’t know what to think. The writer has some good credits to his name so I might give this a go.
… sorry but that is one hell of a crappy trailer…
When his ______________ is murdered, he’s forced to confront his past as he hunts down those responsible.
Copied+Pasted from 30 Statham movies ago
Jason Statham will keep on taking the checks while people keep on handing them to him, smart lad! This does look to be an identikit JS movie but could, might just even, be a cut above his recent outings. Anyone who has seen him in The Bank Job knows he can up his game when he has to and it would be interesting to see him stretch his acting chops if offered the right role. Otherwise, keep on coasting, Jason!
So what !!! That’s the main plot for ANY action film for decades !! Statham can hold his own, just check out The Bank Job to see his best performance. Really looking forward to Hummingbird.
This isn’t a Jason Statham movie, folks… this is a STEVEN KNIGHT movie. He’s a terrific writer (Eastern Promises, Amazing Grace, Dirty Pretty Things) and Statham can be good in good roles that require him to act (Snatch, The Bank Job). I actually wish he’d stop doing so much junk, taking so many paydays, and just concentrate on better material. He has the chops.
Interesting writer credits, liked the music. i’d probably see it
Jason Statham is the Van Damme of today…
None of his movie will ever be new or fresh, but I still like watching him kick ass…
I actually like the transporter statham because he is the only one that has style when he fights so I don’t want him to stray away from that.
