EXCLUSIVE: Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has signed with WME. For over a decade she had been at CAA, which got her the star-making role as Dr. Meredith Grey on ABC’s hit medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. Pompeo continues to be managed by John Carrabino.

I hope this means they’ll be able to get her some role, even a small one, outside of Grey’s. She hasn’t had even a tiny movie role in 10 years.

I think Ellen wants to do something different now, I want to see her doing others projects, Grey´s Anatomy was too much for her. Good choice Ellen.
Ellen needs to find another projects, probably next year will be her last in GA so she needs a change in her career. Im glad for her.
Time for Ellen to move on to other projects. Her run with Grey’s has been good but I want to see her do something else. I have no doubt she would get picked up for another TV series. She’ll probably get a role playing someone’s mother in a comedy.

I would love to see her in a comedy! She was great on Friends when she guest starred. But I doubt she will do another series right away unless the script is great. When Grey’s ends she’ll probably take time off/do a few movies so her schedule isn’t jammed pack, but I would love to see her in a comedy, maybe along with Kate Walsh?
Great move Ellen! Hope this bring her more great stuff.
She will be without a career once Grey’s is over. She very much not a household name or A list tv star and is completely lost within the ensemble with others like Patrick Dempsey, Eric Dane and Kate Walsh have moved upward from the exposure.
She needs to leave the show.
I predict she’ll fade when Grey’s ends its run. She’s played one role for 10 years and barely has shown any range. Maybe she’ll get a small mom role as a guest star or in a small movie but can’t see her with any type of starring role.
She’s not going to have a movie career, but if I were advising her, I would suggest she get our of GA as soon as possible and look to do some edgy cable show or something. Assume she’s bored out of her mind playing the same character since the 1850s.
She signed on for seasons 9 & 10 at the end of season 8. She went for the payday so I think its clear money is her interest and being bored isn’t a problem for her. So many actors want to be on edgy cable shows and I can’t see her beating so many talented women out. Guest roles and then 5 years from now Celebrity Wife Swap or some reality show.
I think Ellen is great, I hope she still does Grey’s, but also ventures out. She’s fantastic, her unique style makes her stand out. I can’t wait
The people in the comments making these remarks about her acting clearly never watch Grey’s. You cannot be a regular actor on a Shonda Rhimes show and not be able to act. Ellen has range.
It’s good for her,….as much as I like her as Meredith and her strong chemistry with Patrick Dempsey on Grey’s Anatomy I’m happy for her and I wish her a better entertainment carrier … I will miss her scene with Patrick Dempsey though…hopefully someday they will re unite in other series or movie
I agree with those commenting she’ll be done when Grey’s is. Without Dempsey she will flop.
