Whitney co-star Zoe Lister Jones has landed the last lead in Dana Klein’s CBS comedy Friends With Better Lives, which is directed by James Burrows. The multi-camera project, from 20th Century Fox TV and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, revolves around six 30-something friends who each think the other has it better. Jones will play one of them, the competitive and narcissistic Kate, who is super successful at work but a mess in her dating life. Jones, repped by WME and Karl Austen, is the latest Whitney cast member to book a pilot in second position

I hope CBS picks this series up. It sounds like it could be funny, and I already love the cast.
A traditional Jim Burrows-directed multi-cam about six 30-something pals and it’s called “FRIENDS With Better Lives”?
Hmmm….
Zoe is such a talent. I love her on Whitney. I was hoping Whitney was coming back next season. Since 3 out of the 6 have booked pilots I guess it’s over n out. Too bad.
I read the script. The characters are fun, but the dialogue is subpar. In a year when CBS has so many good pilots and so few slots, this stands no chance.
She’s the best thing about Whitney. Not intended to be a backhanded compliment either.
That’s a lot of roles in second position, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the future of Whitney.
Saw the pilot tape last night and thought it was hilarious. I hope CBS picks up this show it has a lot of potential to be a long running sitcom.
