Warner Bros has released a new trailer for the Baz Luhrmann-directed The Great Gatsby, which opens May 10 and also is the curtain raiser at the Cannes Film Festival. We’ve all read and loved the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, and damn, I hope that this movie is good and gets it right with a killer cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher, Joel Edgerton and Jason Clarke. When I see bragging here about 3D and music provided by Beyonce, Lana Del Ray and Florence + The Machine, I worry that Gatsby will lose its period charm by injecting too much contemporary feel. But this trailer sure looks good to me.
