EXCLUSIVE: All3Media America, the recently launched U.S. branch of the UK’s All3Media, is formally starting a scripted division. It will be run by former Bad Robot executive Eric Lehrman, named VP Scripted Television. The move reflects the company’s desire to enter the U.S. scripted business and build on All3Media’s slate of international scripted formats, including shows from Company Pictures (Shameless, Skins, The Village, Secret State), Lime Pictures (Hollyoaks), Objective Productions (Peep Show, Fresh Meat), South Pacific (Outrageous Fortune, The Almighty Johnsons), and Bentley (Midsomer Murders). All3Media America principals Eli Holzman and Stephen Lambert said that getting into scripted is something they had been looking to do since the two launched Studio Lambert USA in 2008. All3Media was an investor in StudioLambert USA and late last year triggered an option to buy the company, which became the core of All3Media USA. “With Eric’s help we intend to focus on pairing exceptional material with the best talent in the business and bringing the All3Media reputation for quality, filmmaker-driven television to the United States,” Holzman and Lambert said. At Bad Robot, Lehrman helped oversee development and current programming for such series as Revolution for NBC, Person Of Interest for CBS, and Fringe and Alcatraz for Fox. Lehrman also garnered an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Media for producing the web installment Fringe: Division for Fox.com.
On the unscripted side, All3Media has signed an overall deal with producer Omid Kahangi (Real Housewives Of Atlanta, The Ultimate Fighter). Under the pact, Kahangi will develop and produce his own slate of projects through his Pocket Sized Prods. The deal reunites Kahangi with All3Media America president Holzman, who worked together in 2008 when Kahangi served as co-executive producer on The CW’s Stylista, created by Holzman. “Omid is one of the most talented producers I have ever had the pleasure to work with,” said Holzman. Kahangi, repped by ICM Partners and Greenberg Traurig, already has multiple projects set up.
