Comedian-writer Hannibal Buress (30 Rock) has signed a development deal with Comedy Central. The pact includes a pilot commitment for a project Buress will executive produce; a one-hour stand-up special; a nationwide Comedy Central Live stand-up tour; and a recurring role on the network’s upcoming series Broad City.

GOD YES. Hannibal is a genius. This guy has such a unique and hilarious delivery and perspective. He even made me laugh just sitting in a chair aloof on The Eric Andre Show. It was just so goofy. Comedy Central is quickly gaining relevance again after years of bad decisions like canceling Tough Crowd and giving the worst comedians out there specials. Just this year alone they’ve given Amy Schumer a series, premiered specials from Eugene Mirman, Pete Holmes and Kumail Nanjiani, and now this! Not to mentio, Jonah Ray, Joe DeRosa and Sarah Glazer have all been on the new season of The Half Hour. It’s a good time to be a comedy nerd.

CONGRATULATIONS, HANNIBAL!!! BRAVO, COMEDY CENTRAL!!!
So GREAT to see a Writer Of Color scoring a deal!!! These are few and far between so when it happens it should PRAISED PRAISED PRAISED!!!
I have seen Hannibal do stand up at a small club (before recent success and after his writing stint on 30 Rock and SNL). Quite the hilarious delivery, as the commentator above also said. Good for him.
Here here!!!
This guy is The Best Dude! His timing/delivery/attitude are second to none. All the success in the world to Mr. Buress!
Best comic working.
this guy is hilarious
He’s a good writer, too. He wrote one of the more twisted and bizarre 30 Rock episodes, Respawn. It’s the one where Jenna wears a fake beard and her transvestite boyfriend proceeds to…oh, you just have to see it.
