John Oliver begins his stint as guest host of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart on Monday, June 10 at 11 PM. Deadline broke the news in March that Stewart would be taking a 12-week hiatus to direct his first feature film Rosewater and Oliver would be filling in for eight weeks of original episodes during Stewart’s absence. Stewart will return on Tuesday, September 3. Scheduled guests during Oliver’s first week include Seth Rogen, Armando Iannucci, Mavis Staples and Fareed Zakaria. Oliver performs stand-up around the US and his one-hour special Terrifying Times debuted in April 2008. His stand-up series, John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show premiered on Comedy Central in January 2010 with the fourth season slated to air in late summer. Along with Andy Zaltzman, Oliver also writes and stars in a weekly podcast, The Bugle: Audio Newspaper For A Visual World. The Daily Show is exec produced by Jon Stewart and Rory Albanese, with Steve Bodow, Jennifer Flanz and Adam Lowitt serving as co-exec producers. Supervising producers are Tim Carvell, who also is head writer, Pam DePace, Tim Greenberg, Hillary Kun and Stuart Miller. Jill Katz is producer and Executive in Charge of Production. Kahane Cooperman serves as Production Executive. Chuck O’Neil directs.
