A Los Angeles Court judge today gave the tentative go-ahead for former journalist Anita Busch to sue former Hollywood mogul Michael Ovitz for claims arising out of the 2002 scandal surrounding private investigator Anthony Pellicano. The judge declined Ovitz’s motion for summary judgment due to the statute of limitations. But Busch’s lawyer claims in documents that she only figured out “Ovitz’s liability” in 2006 when The New York Times obtained FBI summaries in which Ovitz acknowledged hiring Pellicano a few months before Busch was first intimidated. The judge set the Stage 1 trial date for this September and Stage 2 for October 2014. Ovitz continues to deny all of Busch’s claims and no doubt will seek to continue delaying any trial as long as he can.
