NBC aired Game 4 of NHL Stanley Cup Final last night, the second game from the championship series to air on the network following the opener. Chicago’s thrilling 6-5 overtime victory over Boston posted a 4.6 household rating. That was up 109% from Game 2 of last year’s Los Angeles-New Jersey Stanley Cup Final, which was the second game of the series to air on NBC. Against last year’s Game 4, which aired on NBC cable sibling Versus (now NBC Sports Network), this year’s ratings were expectedly sharply up, by 171%. NBC is projected to win the night in adults 18-49.
Elsewhere, in cooking competition world, Fox’s two-hour MasterChef (2.1/7) was down 13% from last week but still ranked as the top entertainment program of the night. After a slow start, CBS‘ American Baking Competition has yet to post a drop, logging a 1.2/4 in 18-49, even with last week, and its largest total audience to date (5.8 million). On ABC, burnoff comedies Family Tools (0.9/3, flat) and How To Live With Your Parents (1.0/3, down 17%) matched and hit series lows, respectively. Nightline: The Lookout (1.1/3) was flat.
