Paramount just released an extended clip from its June 21 zombie tent pole. Here’s a new look at Brad Pitt racing his family away from speedy undead to safety in World War Z:

wow…that looks boring..maybe the worst teaser EVER to get $50
I’ve never understood one thing about Zombie films – especially Walking Dead type zombies where they move all slow and stiff and weak. How the hell do they get out of the ground? There on in coffins that have hundreds of pounds of dirt on top of them – literally. They barely have the power to raise their arms, how the F do they get out? And if they can’t get out — and based on the story being sold us, they cannot because zombies are always slow/weak except for WW Z — then the only walking dead are lose that are dead above ground. Well how many millions could that be? And compared to the Billions of living people on earth, it is a major differential in manpower. I know it’s all sci fi and fun and stuff and if there is an explanation i’m missing, i’d love to be filled in. But until I hear an answer that makes sense (not just “accept it and enjoy the show”) I can’t get into these films/shows because even in fictional worlds there needs to be rules and “world logic” — otherwise it’s all a jerkoff and sloppy story telling.
every zombie is dead above ground…they were bitten or infected by a virus or whatever the show/movie’s hook is and changed into a walking brain hungry dead person…It’s really not that hard to understand. And yes there are billions of people on earth and these kinds of infections/plagues/etc. spread quickly. So billions of people turn into a whole lot of dead people.
It’s odd. The image used as the cover of this video, is of Brad and Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem… which is not what this clip about. Why would they use an image that is not even in the clip.
Huh? Really? That’s the final version of the scene? If so they blew it badly. You never see Pitt make it into the copter and it would be much more exciting if he dives off the roof and only manages to grab onto the copter’s landing skid and he hangs onto it as it rises above the building and only with extreme physical effort is he able to climb up and into the copter. Wouldn’t that have been more exciting? Of course it would have been. How much did they pay the writers to work on this?
That would have been so awful and cliched.
Also they do show Pitt getting into the helo, but it was quick so you must have missed it. Its at the 35 second mark.
It’s worse than that. For some decades now, it has been common practice to enclose coffins inside larger concrete boxes (generally called vaults). At funerals, often the concrete bottom is already in place in the grave, with the concrete lid casually just put of sight and waiting to be lowered after the crowd moves on. Then, the dirt.
And they also stopped burying people with jack hammers too. This is why modern zombie films are more about an outbreak of disease and the zombies then spreading the contagion.
well that looks like every movie I’ve ever seen.
Ho hum…. another day, another zombie show, film, whatever. Not even Brad Pitt could get me into the theater.
Still, I have to laugh at the serious discussions of zombie lore as if…
