Bruno Mars Super BowlUPDATE: Bruno Mars joined Fox‘s NFL Sunday program this morning to make it official. The platinum-selling Grammy winner will play the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday, February 2, 2014.

PREVIOUS, SATURDAY PM: An official announcement is expected from the NFL on Sunday during Fox’s pregame show at noon ET. But the Los Angeles Times and AP are reporting that Grammy winner Bruno Mars will perform the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2014. Mars, of course, is the singer-songwriter and prolific producer behind chart-toppers “Locked Out Of Heaven” and “Just The Way You Are.” Previous years’ performers at the NFL super event include Madonna, Beyonce, The Black Eyed Peas with Usher and Slash, The Who, and Bruce Springsteen with the E Street Band.
